Located in the Old Engine House on the edge of York's Museum Gardens in a riverside setting close to the historic Lendal Bridge sits The Star Inn the City York.

Open for breakfast through to dinner, to enjoy casual brasserie-style dining.

Their Brunch menu is available up to 11.30am which includes Full Yorkshire Breakfasts or lighter options. Star Inn the City’s All Day Menu is locally sourced and changes based on the season. Expect fresh seafood dishes, treats from the chargrill served with chip shop chips and a selection of mouthwatering desserts. You can also enjoy the Star Inn the City Afternoon Tea offering.

Operations Director Chef Matt Hunter and his team also offer Daily Specials including Catch-of-the-Day fish dishes.

They also have an imaginative list of  seasonal cocktails developed by their in house mixicologists, such as:
99 Problems (But A Peach Ain’t One)
Absolut Vodka, Crème de Pêche, Crème de Cassis & Fresh Lemon topped with Secco 8

There are three dining areas; in good weather you can enjoy al fresco dining on their Terrace, The Garden Room is an extension to the original building with views over the River Ouse and Museum Gardens, or thirdly there is the River Room which is located in the former Engine House itself.
