North Leeds Food Festival at Roundhay Park to Host Annual Festival for its 8th Consecutive Year
The North Leeds Food Festival returns to Roundhay Park on 11th – 12th May 2024 for its 8th year. The annual event promises a weekend of culinary delights, live entertainment, and community engagement in the heart of Leeds.
The renowned North Leeds Food Festival is set to return to Roundhay Park on May 11th and 12th, marking its eighth year at the iconic venue since its launch in 2016. This annual event has become a highlight on the Leeds calendar, attracting visitors from across the region to indulge in a weekend of culinary delights and community camaraderie.
Event Director Michael Johnston expressed his enthusiasm for the festival’s return to Roundhay Park, stating, “We’re thrilled to be returning to Roundhay Park for our 8th year. I live a short walk away and have been coming to Roundhay Park all my life so this event always feels extra special.”
Nikki Orrell, Festival Manager, emphasised the festival’s track record of success, commenting: “We can’t wait to return to Roundhay Park after two record-breaking years for attendance. The food will be delicious, and the large Artisan Market will be packed full of local delights. This is a fantastic opportunity for local traders and small businesses to showcase their produce.”
The North Leeds Food Festival, which has grown significantly in recent years, is expected to attract its largest audience yet. Attendees can look forward to a diverse range of attractions, including Live Chef Demos hosted by Yorkshire Food Guide, providing insights into the region’s culinary talent.
Throughout the weekend, the Street Food Arena will offer a variety of cuisines, from Middle Eastern delicacies to classic Yorkshire favourites. Live music performances, featuring at least 12 acts, will provide a vibrant backdrop to the festivities.
In addition to food and entertainment, the North Leeds Food Festival will offer free live entertainment, performing arts shows and free kids’ activities, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. Attendees can also explore art displays, relax in designated lounging areas, and experience ‘whimsical’ roaming entertainment.
As part of its commitment to supporting the local community, the festival will once again partner with Leeds Mind to raise funds for mental health charities. With over £100,000 raised for local mental health initiatives across the North, the event aims to make a positive impact while providing a platform for communal celebration.
