The Good Food Guide has announced their top bakeries across the UK – and we’re thrilled to see three Yorkshire spots have made the cut.
Whether it’s a crusty loaf of sourdough to smoother in salted butter or a crisp croissant and a coffee for your Sunday morning walk – it’s hard to beat a proper bakery. So, without further ado, here’s some of the top bakeries in Yorkshire.

First up is Baker’s Yard in Sheffield, run by avid foodies Sam and Becca. From baking delicious breads, brownies and cookies in their home, to opening their own site – it’s become a true gem and it’s no wonder Baker’s Yard has made the list as one of the best bakeries in Yorkshire.
This micro bakery serves delicious baked goods and speciality coffee. Customers can expect simple, delicious dishes and small plates that elevate quality local produce.

Haxby Bakehouse, York
Haxby Bakehouse proudly supplies Haxby and some of our favourite York restaurants and artisan cafes with fresh bread and pastries.
Their tight-knit team aim to craft traditional artisan loaves using seasonal ingredients and natural, organic flour with no preservatives, improvers or emulsifiers.
Since they opened in 2008, Haxby Bakehouse has been praised for the quality of their baked goods, and has rapidly expanded to keep up with huge demand. There’s no wonder it’s one of the top bakeries in Yorkshire.

Nova Bakehouse, Leeds
Finally, Leeds’ Nova Bakehouse, a neighbourhood bakery at Leeds Dock has been shortlisted. With selections of crumbly biscuits, a classic cinnamon bun or popular cheese and rye scones, Nova has impressed with their intuitive baking techniques.
They serve up fresh sandwiches and barista-made coffee come lunchtime, making it the perfect stop-off after a walk around Leeds’ dock – it’s undoubtedly one of the best bakeries in Yorkshire.
