Owl is a small, relaxed, yet lively dining room located Lockside next to Leeds’ canal. Serving modern British food, using the best local fish, meat and game.

Having first opened its doors in November 2019 following a stint in its iconic Leeds Kirkgate market home, the Owl has spread its wings to its forever home. The restaurant now resides at Lockside, a stunning picturesque location by the canal, in the city’s enigmatic Mustard Wharf development.

Owl is led by Head Chef Mark Owens who opened up The Owl originally with business partner Elizabeth Cottam (chef patron of HOME and CORA).

Visitors to Owl can enjoy great food with floor-to-ceiling views of the canal in its urban waterfront setting. Just a stone’s throw away from Leeds train station, the restaurant location reflects the traditional heritage of Leeds with one of the city’s most vibrant, modern developments.

The Owl serves modern British food, using the best local fish, meat and game.

Terrace & Wine Bar

The Owl has a handful of undercover tables on their waterside terrace, for walk-ins looking for bar bites and small plates. Their wine list is small but full of interesting examples of great wines.

Chefs Table

The best seats in the house are at Owl’s chef’s table. Available for parties for up to four to enjoy a set menu of their chef’s favourite dishes.
