The Black Swan at Oldstead
- York
- Cuisine: British
- Awards: 1 Michelin Star, 4 AA Rosette, 5 Star AA Rated Rooms, Good Food Guide Recommended
The renowned Black Swan at Oldstead set on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, is unique as the only restaurant in Yorkshire and the North East to hold a Michelin Star and 4 AA Rosettes.
Tommy Banks’ talent as a chef is in itself truly remarkable. He has been Britain’s youngest Michelin-starred chef for two years now and is becoming widely regarded for his ground-breaking innovation. Tommy had a record-breaking run on last year’s Great British Menu and has once again won the honour of cooking a dish at The Banquet this year celebrating 140 years of Wimbledon.
For The Black Swan at Oldstead, their offering is much more than just Michelin Star food. The focus is all about where they are and who they are – a reflection of “Oldstead” – traditional Yorkshire with a swirling mix of creativity and eccentricity.
Anne Banks (Owner) said: “I like to think that we have brushed aside much of the formality normally associated with fine dining; for us, it’s about our guests having fun; so it’s good food, good service and a good time”
They cook seasonally, with their menu focusing on a combination of amazing fresh produce straight from their kitchen garden, alongside special ingredients that they’ve preserved from previous seasons.
The Black Swan also has 9 stylish appointed bedrooms with characterful features and statement bathrooms.
