Chefs of Tomorrow travels to Le Cochon Aveugle, York
The next Chefs of Tomorrow event will be stopping off at Le Cochon Aveugle in York on Monday 17 July.
After the successes of the TMRW Project Chefs of Tomorrow initiative, now in its third year, has seen this years young chefs at Charlotte’s W5, London, and HISPI, Manchester. Continuing their hunt for the next generation’s most exciting culinary talents in York’s favourite petite French restaurant.
July’s #CoT dinner will see young chefs from local York restaurants prepare and cook either a starter, fish course, meat course, or dessert. Each will have the chance to create, curate, and serve their dish to a full restaurant: an experience that cultivated by #CoT and not often available until a Sous or Head Chef level. This invaluable experience upholds the crux of the TMRW Project: a collaborative project started in 2015, run by Dan Doherty (Group Exec Chef of Duck & Waffle), Anna Sulan Masing (Food Writer and Creative Consultant), and General Manager Emma Underwood.
Selecting the right venue for #CoT can be tricky but Le Cochon Aveugle’s synergy with TMRW Project is inadmissible. Head Chef Josh Overington is only 29 years old himself and after being left to his own devices in the kitchen, he began his own great creation, Le Cochon Aveugle, with co-owner and GM Victoria. Since then, such statements like, ‘Grin like eejits…it’s simply excellent’ from Food Critic, Marina O’Loughlin, have echoed the achievements Josh has made within the hospitality industry.
Josh himself is passionate about the #CoT, appreciating its importance: “Nurturing the next generation of chefs is hugely important, not just for the restaurant industry’s growing success but for our chefs to continue raising the profile of British food and restaurants, firmly cementing our right to be recognised on the world class platform.”
Chefs of Tomorrow York will kick off at Le Cochon Aveugle on Monday 17 July 2017 at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite and are on sale for £35 + booking fees. The ticket includes a four-course dinner and a welcome drink. Le Cochon Aveugle drinks and wine list will be available to order from, including a wine flight to match the meal, throughout the evening.
