The Great British Food Festival returns to Harewood House this May Bank Holiday

The Great British Food Festival returns to Harewood House
29th – 31st May 2021
The hugely popular Great British Food Festival at Harewood House near Leeds returns Saturday 29th May to Bank Holiday Monday 31st.
The line-up includes around 100 best of British producers and street food vendors, celebrity chef demos, talks, kids cookery lessons, great live music, a ‘Cake Off’ competition and ‘Men v Food’ challenges, a BBQ stage and a new ‘Grow your Own’ Stage.
One of the organisers, Daniel Maycock, said: ‘I think we can all agree last year was rubbish, and the events industry was hit pretty hard – we had to cancel our whole year of events, and as a small company that was a real blow. I also felt really sorry for a lot of our stalls holders, who could no longer sell their products at markets and events, as well as all our suppliers – we hope people will want to come out and support events again. We are just really looking forward to seeing people again and feeling that atmosphere which only comes from live events.’
The Great British Food Festival plans to take in ten venues around the UK this summer, with the Harewood House event starting them off in late May, then visiting other venues such as Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire, Helmingham Hall in East Anglia, Knebworth Estate in Hertfordshire and Lowther Castle in the Lake District, finally finishing at Arley Hall in September.
The Great British Food Festival has achieved the ‘Good to Go’ Covid accreditation. Daniel added: “We are doing everything required and more to make the events Covid secure, we have the ‘Good to Go’ award and have implemented a number of changes for this year, such as advanced ticket sales only at our early events, timed slot entry, one way systems, hand sanitiser stations around the site and extra cleaning staff on site.
We feel we have made the events really safe, best of all they are all outside in the fresh air, so people can relax and enjoy the surroundings with some great food and drink.”
The events sound like the perfect recipe for a fun, foodie day out where the whole family ‘bubble’ can get together, visit www.greatbritishfoodfestival.com for more details, tickets and all the dates and venues.
