Sold out opening weekend kicks off Yorkshire Hallowscream festival
Hallowscream at York Maze has fired the starting gun for 18 nights of spine-chilling Halloween fun with a sold-out opening weekend and the launch of a new VIP Bar, Lucifer’s Lounge.
It has to be one of our favourite things to do in October this spooky season.
Stars from Emmerdale, Love Island, Big Brother and a host of influencers were first to experience the new VIP bar on the Friday 10th opening night.
As well as Lucifer’s Lounge, Hallowscream visitors can get their hands on fresh pizzas, moresih burgers and even roast their own s’mores.
There’s plenty of foodie options to pick from, and help you refuel before taking on the rest of the scarehouses.
Says York Maze owner and creator of Hallowscream Tom Pearcy says: “We always aim to offer something new and after opening new scare houses in 2023 and 2024, this year we have transformed the central entertainment zone.

Enter the Hallowscream under a giant skull where you will find a new bar and an exclusive new VIP bar upstairs.
“From the balcony you get a spectacular view of the main stage with dancers and fire acts performing throughout the night. Inside Lucifer’s Lounge you can drink with the devil himself and try our new signature Blood Bag cocktail!”
Hallowscream has won Winner of the best screampark UK, with 100 scare actors and five thrilling houses to explore.
There’s live entertainment, regular shows and roaming live actors – ready to scare you at every corner!

Hallowscream is open selected nights until Saturday 1st November, tickets start from £28.
Entry to the Lucifer’s Lounge VIP Bar is an additional £15, which includes a signature Blood Bag Cocktail.
We had to try this frightening evening out for ourselves, entering the scarehouses and grabbing a bite to eat, of course!
