La Bottega Milanese Submits Plans to Open on York High Street

Leeds-based coffee shop La Bottega Milanese has plans to convert the former Supercuts site into a new Italian coffee shop on a busy York high street.
The location, at 4 New Street, is just off a central York high street, with owner Katia Periera wanting to bring a taste of Milan to the city.
If permitted the former salon would face a modern revamp, with new timber frame sliding windows painted matte black put in place to replace the shop windows.
There are also plans for the sliding windows to open up to an outdoor, paved seating area on the high street.
La Bottega Milanese focuses on creating an authentic Italian experience right in the heart of Yorkshire, creating a place for people to gather and network, catch up with colleagues and have a social drink or bite to eat.
La Bottega Milanese said on their website “For any Milanese the espresso bar is more than a place where you feed your caffeine needs. Like a pair of shoes, it’s a detail that tells a story about who you are.”
The brand started as a “cupboard-sized” espresso bar in Leeds and has now grown with two locations in the city, one on Bond Court and the other in Park House off Park Square.
Talking about its branches in Leeds, the website said “Fast-forwarding to 2022, the booming Independent coffee brand expanded over 3 stores created an amazing name and entered Leeds coffee scene coupled with Leeds’s unstoppable growth and the popularity of coffee shops.”
If successful, the coffee shop will sit alongside other popular chains such as Cafe Nero and Starbucks.
