On the infamous Bishy Road on the outskirts of York stands The Old Liquor Store. Housed within the Grade II listed former Terry’s chocolate factory, the team serve up much-loved Italian-influenced small plates, brunch and Sunday lunch.

Matt Leivers, former Head Chef at The Star Inn at Harome, has taken over the kitchen. Expect an all-day menu inspired by Italian flavours and ingredients. Over the weekend, The Old Liquor Store serves up a weekly changing menu of contemporary small plates and pizzetta.

On their all-day menu, you can choose from stone-baked pizzett and a selection of brunch dishes, including house ricotta pancakes and sharing platters filled with cured meats, cheeses, rock oysters and more.

Sunday brunch is served from 9 – 11 a.m. Followed by their mouthwatering Sunday lunch menu.

The Old Liquor Store also operates as a bar, deli and cafe, perfect for those wanting to visit for a quick morning coffee, tuck into a sandwich at lunchtime or pop in for after-work drinks and dinner.
