The eagerly anticipated Harrogate Food and Drink Festival is gearing up for its 5th annual return to the stunning Ripley Castle, ensuring a weekend of culinary delights and emphatic live entertainment over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
With brand-new eccentric production, attendees can expect to embark on an immersive journey through a plethora of interactive experiences, live music, delicious offerings, and more.
Festival Director, Michael Johnston, shared his enthusiasm for this landmark event, stating, “The backdrop of Ripley Castle makes the event very special for us, so we’re thrilled to be returning for our 5th anniversary.
Every year we aim to build on the success of the last, and to do so we’re implementing new production, fantastic tribute acts, and keeping all the classics. We want to create a memorable bank holiday for everyone.”
A cornerstone of the Harrogate Food and Drink Festival is the esteemed Street Food Arena, showcasing a diverse array of global cuisines. Whether it’s the savoury delight of freshly cooked paella, the aromatic allure of Pad Thai, or a classic Yorkshire favourite, attendees can indulge themselves in a range of unique dishes and cultural specialities.
In line with the festival’s commitment to supporting small businesses are the Artisan Markets, boasting over 100 different traders showcasing local produce, fresh-baked goods, hand-made crafts, and art.
Festival Manager, Nikki Orrell shared the event’s enthusiasm for the returning marketplace, stating, “Each year, we love taking the opportunity to showcase as many local traders and small businesses as we can. The market is always packed with delicious treats and fantastic produce.”
Thirsty festival-goers are invited to enjoy a variety of beverages at Harrogate Food and Drink Festival’s lineup of independent bars, offering speciality ciders, gin, rum, and wine. Alternatively, guests can visit the festival’s Full Ale House, Sponsored by North, selling draught lagers, IPAs, and cask favourites.
Beyond the culinary delights are an abundance of entertainment options tailored to all ages. From the Live Music Stage, packed with local talent and acclaimed tribute acts (announced shortly), to the Cookery Theatre in collaboration with Yorkshire Food Guide, featuring a star-studded lineup of culinary experts (announced shortly), guests are guaranteed a diverse and engaging experience.
Other attractions at Harrogate Food and Drink Festival include a Live Entertainers Stage featuring interactive magic shows, Ian’s Mobile Educational Farm, Roaming Comedy, and a Funfair & Inflatable Land.
In steadfast commitment to the local community, the Harrogate Food and Drink Festival will partner with Harrogate Mind in the hope of adding to the over £95,000 raised so far for mental health initiatives across the North. The event aims to support the local community whilst fostering a day of festivities for friends and family of all ages and cultures.
