French neighbourhood bistro, Bavette Leeds is the latest addition to the Michelin Guide

Found in the Leeds suburbs, this authentic French restaurant, Bavette Leeds, has brought something unique to the culinary scene and we’re so happy to see them being celebrated by the world’s most prestigious guide.

Launching Bavette in Horsforth less than two months ago in February 2024, owners Sandy and Clément described the space at their opening as “a love letter to our favourite places”.

A few weeks ago, Michelin Guide paid Bavette Leeds a surprise visit with the news of an exciting feature in the next 2025 guide.

On their restaurant’s Instagram, they shared the news with their beloved customers. They said, “We are all filled with pride, joy and general excitement for this achievement, only possible by how amazing every single member of the team has done since day one.

Our dream was to open a bistro people loved coming to (which we feel is off to a good start) rather than to set out and get accolades but we’d be lying if we said this wasn’t a special moment for us.”

Now with a proud placement in the Michelin Guide, they described Bavette Leeds as “something so overtly French about this neighbourhood bistro that it’s a wonder they don’t have the tricolore flag hanging outside”.

Michelin went on to say, “Clément runs the chatty service, while Sandy is in the kitchen working on a concise menu of keenly priced Gallic classics – expect to spot flavoursome renditions of the likes of pâté en croute and shellfish bisque.”

Inside this restaurant full of charm and character, classic dishes include steak tartare, confit pork cheek and the delectable Crème Brûlée paired with tangy Yorkshire rhubarb.
