Yorkshire Food Guide helps to deliver North Yorkshire Council’s biggest ever Whitby Restaurant Week
//= get_the_date( 'dS F Y' ); ?>
Our campaign on behalf of Visit North Yorkshire has proved a huge success, celebrating everything that Whitby Restaurant Week had to offer.
Aim of the campaign
Restaurant Week aims to help restaurants, cafes and pubs attract residents and visitors to dine somewhere new at an affordable price. It is free for businesses to take part and it runs during the time of the year that is typically quieter in terms of dining footfall and bookings.
Visit North Yorkshire wanted us to raise awareness of the campaign, and get more eager foodies downloading their exclusive vouchers. They also wished to draw attention to the independent restaurants included in the voucher deals.
With our 50,000 + newsletter subscribers, and reaching over 220k video views across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, we knew our followers would love to engage with eye-catching content, showcasing Whitby Restaurant Week.

The deliverables:
Our concise one-off campaign ensured that Whitby Restaurant Week received excellent coverage across our website, newsletters, and large social media following. The campaign included:
- Social video content produced by YFG and shared to YFG’s Facebook, Instagram and TikTok audience
- Account management, campaign tracking and results analysis
- Paid social media campaign with audience and geo-targeting
- x2 Instagram/Facebook/TikTok stories
- E-newsletter feature
- Sharing of press release
During Whitby restaurant week, we showcased five independent restaurants, making sure we captured the very best dishes, angles and interior details to impress.

The Results
With stunning visuals of both the restaurants and the Whitby coastline, we’re thrilled that the campaign has performed so well.
It has been North Yorkshire Council’s most successful restaurant week yet, and we’re proud to have played a crucial part in this campaign.
- Total participating venues: 24
- Total number of Restaurant Week vouchers downloaded: 1,572
- 220,000 + views across Yorkshire Food Guide’s social channels
- Our paid Meta advertising campaign resulted in 359,169 impressions, 178,044 reach
It has been great to be a part of such a successful campaign, especially when encouraging tourists and locals alike to try independent restaurants in the Yorkshire region.
Campaign feedback from North Yorkshire Council
The team behind Visit North Yorkshire said: “Partnering with the Yorkshire Food Guide aligned strongly with our campaign objectives for Restaurant Weeks in Helmsley, the Howardian Hills and Whitby.
Our campaigns focused on high-quality provenance and delicious, seasonal dishes, encouraging residents and visitors to visit old favourites or discover their new favourite dining spots.
Yorkshire Food Guide produced high-quality content, targeting their engaged foodie audience as well as helping us reach new audiences and increase awareness of the events.
The activity worked seamlessly with our wider campaign and helped us to deliver our biggest Restaurant Weeks yet.”
