Planning your big day? Fat Hippo are not your average kind of wedding caterer

Winner of ‘Battle of The Burger’ both on their home turf in Newcastle and Leeds, Fat Hippo Burger Bar ensure their customers go away with good food, messy fingers and juicy burgers. If you frequent any of the popular street food events, such as Peddler Sheffield, Canal Mills Annual Brewers Market in Leeds or Magic Rock in Huddersfield, you’ll probably already be well acquainted with their Burger Bar.
Born from a love of great burgers, Fat Hippo has come a long way since their first opening. Brain child of Mike Phillips, their Burger Bar launched back in 2013 following the success of their permanent North East burger joint.
   
Their fleet has grown into a highly successful outdoor catering business for events, parties and weddings throughout the UK. Having already added an impressive 10ft steel Shipping Container to their family of pop up street food trailers, a heavy duty 1986 Chevy Kurbmaster has also joined their team.
Serving fresh gourmet burgers, straight off the grill, they cater to any kind of event, from corporate hospitality to wedding catering and birthdays. With their growing fleet, they have a range of vehicles to suit any venue. They also offer bespoke personalised menus, and even private complimentary tasting sessions so you can sample the burgers on offer before the big day!
Burger Bar
Their rustic Burger Bar is where it all started. Made from reclaimed wood, their trusty Burger Bar let them venture into the world of outdoor catering back in 2013. Since then they’ve brought a freshly grilled mouthful of the good kind of gluttony to foodie events and private parties all over the country.

Shipping Container
With its impressive 10ft steel stature, their industrial but stylish Shipping Container isn’t your typical kind of street food van. Great for catering to events where you need a bit of impact. Since joining their Fleet, their Shipping Container has proven to be a popular pop-up restaurant in its own right. We have seen it in person ourselves and have to say it is impressive!

Chevy
Their newest edition, their vintage Chevy, has come all the way from the US to join the Fat Hippo Fleet. A proper burger truck for proper dirty burgers, their Chevy Kurbmaster is the perfect vehicle for serving up our good-old-fashion-get-it-all-over-your-face food!
