New Summer Dining announced at Middleton Lodge Estate

Award-winning country retreat, Middleton Lodge, shares new menus at the Coach House and Forge.

Middleton Lodge, the award-winning country estate near Richmond, North Yorkshire, offers fabulous, but very different, summer dining experiences at both its restaurants, the Coach House modern kitchen and bar, and fine dining restaurant Forge.

The Coach House, which sits at the heart of the estate, serves kitchen garden-inspired plates for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Head chef Ross Forder prides himself on creating hearty classics with a modern twist and the menu changes daily, inspired by the produce growing on the estate. When ingredients cannot be sourced on-site, Ross works with local farmers and fishmongers to bring delicious, fresh produce to the menus.

Summer at the Coach House at Middleton Lodge is one of the most exciting times for diners who can choose to sit indoors or in the popular Courtyard area, beneath a stretch tent.

Dishes can be chosen from the Land, Garden or Sea. Example lunch courses include ‘Harissa Yorkshire Chicken Burger, Yorkshire Salad, Garden Slaw, Preserved Lemon Aioli Fries’, ‘Wensleydale Falconer Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Pea Puree’ and ‘Burrata, Basil Gremolata, Isle of Wight Tomato & English Strawberries.’

Supper dishes include ‘Chargrilled Waterford Farm Steak with House Salad, Confit Tomato and hand-cut chips’, and ‘Grilled Courgette, Courgette Puree, Garden Radish, Mint, Lentils, Blackcurrant.

In celebration of the summer at Middleton Lodge, the Coach House team has created a bottomless lunch offering, available Monday to Friday, lunchtimes only. Diners can enjoy two hearty plates and endless prosecco for 90 minutes. Terms and conditions apply.

“The summer months bring an abundance of fresh ingredients to the kitchen from the gardens, greenhouses and raised beds,” says Ross. “The team and I go into the gardens every morning to find ingredients for that day’s dishes. Plates are delicious, hearty and flavoursome, and our low food mile menus ensure that courses are delicious and the textures fresh.”

Fine dining restaurant at Middleton Lodge, Forge, offers a sense-evoking tasting experience. Here, head chef Jake Jones works in symphony with the seasons and the produce they bring to the estate’s kitchen garden, woodlands, greenhouses and raised planting beds to create intricate, detailed courses with a strong commitment to sustainable gastronomy.

The restaurant opened earlier this year with a ten-course storytelling experience. A shorter six-course experience has also just been launched for those looking to try the experience.

“Being able to create and share a tasting experience on the estate has been a very special experience,” says Jake. “The team and I are constantly inspired by the ingredients we have here to create a memorable tasting experience. The shorter tasting menu is a perfect introduction to the Forge dining experience, or for guests on a tighter schedule.”

At Middleton Lodge, the six-course tasting experience is £55 pp, optional wine pairing £45 pp. The ten-course experience is £95 pp, optional wine pairing £65 pp.
