Red Brick: Sheffield to get huge new indoor market

A huge indoor market with nearly 100 stalls is opening in Sheffield this month.

Red Brick Market Sheffield will take over the former 99 Jump trampoline park on John Street, sitting opposite Sheffield United’s Bramhall Road Stadium.

It is expected to host almost 100 stalls when it officially launches in the city later this March, according to planning documents submitted last year.

Brought to the Steel City by an experienced team with two other well-established sites in Birmingham and Liverpool, the opening of Red Brick Sheffield seems to be hotly anticipated by locals – despite the city already having a glut of rival food halls.

Bosses behind the Red Brick Sheffield concept promise to bring “the best independent shopping experience” with 95 stalls showcasing a mixture of unique and unusual stores, independent traders, talented local artists and start up businesses.

The Liverpool Red Brick also houses a gorgeous cafe and bar, R Social, nestled into the front corner of its brilliant warehouse space. Hopefully, Sheffield will feature something similar when it opens later this month.

Born out of a love of good coffee, beer and independent shopping, the Red Brick Sheffield company has an emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility.

Lower rates for retail units are intentional, with a model that is set up to enable local creatives and entrepreneurs to start their own businesses at an affordable rate. Stalls will also be fitted out using recycled and sustainable materials wherever possible.

Shoppers heading to its existing sites can expect to find everything from designer wear and arts and crafts to coffee, cakes, sweets, pet treats, beers, vinyl records, homeware, vintage clothing and books.

The proposed opening times for Red Brick Sheffield when it opens later this month are 10am-6pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sundays. Keep up to date with Red Brick Sheffield on Instagram here.
