New July Dates Announced For The Return of The Riverside Food & Drink Festival Wetherby
The eagerly anticipated Food and Drink Festival returns to its picturesque riverside location on the Wetherby Ings.
After two successful years, the Riverside Food Festival prepares to return to its beautiful riverside location in Wetherby, promising heightened production, ecstatic live entertainment, and an exciting new lineup.
Festival Director, Michael Johnston shared his anticipation for the event, stating, “We’re thrilled to be returning to such a scenic location. Across our events, one of our many priorities is to consistently create weekend-long entertainment, so we can’t wait to debut the changes we have made to production and revive the buzzing atmosphere from the previous two years.”
Cuisines from around the world take centre stage in the esteemed Street Food Arena at Riverside Food Festival, offering festival-goers a gastronomic journey through a variety of culinary delights; Mexican Tacos, fresh wood-fired pizza, irresistible Bao Buns, and classic Yorkshire favourites, to name a few.
The festival’s renowned Artisan Market invites visitors to explore a treasure trove of local produce, fresh baked goods, and homemade crafts from over 90 different market traders. This unique sensory experience ensures there’s something special to take home for everyone.
“The local produce and talent showcased in the marketplace is exceptional. Every year we ensure a diverse selection of local artisans are represented” – Nikki Orrell, Festival Manager.
Beyond the culinary delights, the Riverside Food Festival boasts a plethora of entertainment options, including a Live Music Stage, a Cookery Theatre in partnership with Yorkshire Food Guide, a Live Entertainers Stage, Kids Activities, Roaming Comedy, a Funfair & Inflatable Land, and more.
Riverside Food Festival goers searching for refreshments can enjoy a wide selection of beverages at the festival’s independent bars, featuring speciality ciders, rum, gin, and wines. For the beer connoisseurs, there’s a range of IPAs, lagers and popular cask favourites available at the Full Ale House.
“Whether it’s unwinding on the deckchairs and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, exploring the displays in the Artisan Markets, or immersing yourself in the live entertainment, there’s something for the whole family here”– Michael Johnston, Festival Director.
Every year, the festival strives to provide the perfect day out for connecting friends and family of all ages and cultures, fostering a weekend of celebration and fun. Continuing its commitment to supporting the local community, the festival will once again partner with Leeds Mind to raise funds for mental health charities. Having raised over £100,000 for local mental health initiatives across the north, the event aims to create a positive impact whilst creating a day of communal festivities.
With the date stamped in, organisers expect thousands to join the celebration of the Riverside Food Festival at the Wetherby Ings on July 27th – 28th.
