Luminescence light trail returns to Swinton Estate

The wintry magic has returned to Swinton Estate with their Luminescence Winter Light Trail returning on Saturday 31st October.

Luminescence, Yorkshire’s most enchanting winter light trail, is here until 21st February, bringing a little wonder and plenty of twinkly lights to the Yorkshire countryside.

Set across 200 acres of woodland, lakes and gardens at Swinton Park Hotel, the mile-long after-dark adventure transforms the historic estate into a fantastical world of illuminated installations, extraterrestrial landscapes and unexpected surprises.

Luminescence 25-26 Swinton Estate - hanging birdcages

Now in its second year, Luminescence is back with eleven new attractions, so even if you visited last year, there is still plenty of reason to return.

Among the highlights is Birdcage Walk, where 100 illuminated birdcages create a rather magical stroll, and A Night at the Oscars, complete with chandeliers, paparazzi and your moment in the spotlight.

You must select which area you currently live in.

Little ones can make a wish at the illuminated wishing tree or hunt for the End of the Rainbow, while grown-ups can enjoy the rather important business of warming up by the firepit.

This year, the lakeside seating area has doubled in size, meaning more room for marshmallow toasting, hot chocolate sipping and, of course, a glass of mulled wine or two.

Swinton Estate Luminescence - guest enjoying experience

And because no winter outing is complete without something lovely to eat, make an evening of it with cream tea, dinner or drinks at Swinton Park, or head to the more contemporary Terrace Restaurant & Bar.

Whether you’re planning a family adventure, a festive date night or simply an excuse to get out of the house once the clocks go back, Luminescence looks set to make those long Yorkshire evenings considerably brighter.
