Swinton Estate launches new light trail for this winter

Brand new for this winter, Swinton Estate is set to launch inaugural Luminescence, an exciting Winter Light Trail for all the family.

Set amidst the beautiful lakes and woodland garden of the Swinton Park Hotel near Masham, visitors can bundle up and explore the trail.

You may even catch a glimpse of the shining deer herd.

Explore majestic trees, follies and lakeside paths, visitors can meander up the glowing Party Parade to the Woodland Grotto and Lakeside Lights before entering another world at The Galaxy.

Running throughout the winter months to the end of February 2026, this could be one of our favourite things to do in Yorkshire this winter.

Halfway through the trail, warm up with a hot chocolate and marshmallows, or a bite to eat.

If you fancy making an evening of it, combine the trail with one of our favourite dining options offered by Swinton Estate, such as a traditional Yorkshire Sunday lunch in Samuel’s Restaurant.

Owner of Swinton Estate, Felicity Cunliffe-Lister says  “We are unveiling the Luminescence Winter Light Trail as an immersive experience that we hope will captivate all the family. At this truly magical time of year, the Swinton Estate is a magnificent setting to bring people together and to celebrate the beauty of nature.”

Welcoming more than 45,000 annual visitors, the 20,000-acre Swinton Estate is the destination to stay, play, dine and rediscover wellness on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
