The best Indian restaurants in Yorkshire ranked top in the UK
//= get_the_date( 'dS F Y' ); ?>
The British Indian Good Food Guide has revealed the best Indian restaurants across the UK for 2025, and it just happens that three of our favourite Indian restaurants have been recognised as regional champions of Yorkshire.
These restaurants have been chosen because the British Indian Good Food Guide believes they define the national identity of British-Indian cuisine today – driving innovation, honouring heritage, and raising standards.

Best Indian restaurants in Yorkshire: Tharavadu, Leeds
Located in the heart of Leeds, you can savour the authentic flavours of traditional Kerala cuisine, crafted by chefs who learned their skills from the Nair Tharavadu tradition, born and raised in Kerala.
As the first authentic Kerala restaurant in the city, it has quickly become a favourite dining destination among sportspersons, celebrities like Rebel Wilson, but importantly, foodies from all over. Their ranking on the British Indian Good Food Guide certainly doesn’t come as a surprise and is a very well-deserved achievement.
Where? 7-8 Mill Hill, Leeds, LS1 5DQ
Prashad, Drighlington
AA rosette Indian restaurant on the outskirts of Bradford is the other regional winner for Yorkshire. Prashad offers a vegetarian tasting menu featuring North West Indian cuisine, particularly highlighting Gujarati dishes that have turned many heads.
Their recipes, which have been passed down from generation to generation, have won Rossettes, finalised in Gordon Ramsay’s Best restaurants, and they’re now Yorkshire’s regional winner for the best indian restaurants in the UK.
Where? 137 Whitehall Rd, Drighlington, Bradford BD11 1AT
Best Indian restaurants in Yorkshire: Kerala Canteen, Leeds
Another restaurant that ranked among the UK’s best Indian eateries is Kerala Canteen, led by Bobby Geetha, who featured on MasterChef: The Professionals.
The cosy fairy-lit restaurant is a hidden gem in Leeds, tucked away by BBC Yorkshire. Serving small plates and sharing dishes, their flavours are authentic and transport you straight to southwestern India.
Where? 5, St. Peter’s Street, St Peter’s Square, Leeds LS9 8AQ
It’s such an achievement to be recognised as one of the best indian restaurants in Yorkshire, let alone the rest of the UK. This comes at a time when Yorkshire venues are dominating the national stage with their talent – and we couldn’t be more excited.
