Renowned chefs, George Birtwell (MasterChef: The Professionals 2024 Finalist) and Samira Effa (Great British Menu 2024 competitor) have combined their talents to form The Epicurean Duo – an exclusive private dining experience.
George’s experience draws from his previous role as a senior sous chef at Tommy Banks’ Michelin-starred restaurant, The Black Swan in Oldstead as well as being involved in various catering and hospitality events.
Former Head Chef at Grantely Hall’s Bar & Restaurant EightyEight, Samira draws on her eclectic upbringing, constantly learning new things after more than 17 years in the tough industry.
With a shared passion for innovative fine dining, they bring restaurant-quality cuisine, artistry and storytelling to intimate dining experiences to their guests.
This unforgettable evening at Bosun’s Restaurant in York, will welcome the acclaimed culinary duo for an exclusive dining experience – for a limited amount of guests.
This special event will showcase a meticulously crafted 6-course tasting menu with petit fours, carefully curated by The Epicurean Duo. With the option to add a non-alcoholic or alcoholic drinks pairing package to your experience.Â

How to Book
- Add the number of tickets you’d like to purchase to your cart
- Once purchased you will receive an order receipt and your ticket/s via email.
- You will be automatically added to the event’s guest list.
- On arrival, please present your Yorkshire Food Guide ticket/s which display a unique voucher number and QR code.
- If you’ve selected a drinks pairing option (alcoholic £60 / non-alcoholic £45), this will be paid directly to Bosuns restaurant on the evening of the event.
