Firstly, there’s The View and no we’re not just talking about the stunning views. Staying true to their Yorkshire roots, dishes at The View range from partridge spring rolls in a port reduction, to wild garlic risotto adorned with parmesan, along with British classics sirloin steak and duck breast. Not to mention their hugely popular afternoon tea. The View is certainly one of Skipton’s more delectable dining experiences.
Macleod’s Bar & Lounge is the perfect place to relax and refresh. With a menu reflecting this relaxing atmosphere, perfect for delicious pork crackling nibbles, classic ploughman’s sharing platter or enjoy the best in home comfort cooking with steak frites or beer battered fish and chips. Wash all this down with any of the offerings from their fully stacked bar.
Lastly, but by no means least is the Blossom Kitchen a perfect balance of nature, nutrition, culture and cuisine. Showcasing the abundance of local produce and fusing it with an Asian flair. Wanting to gorge yourself on the finest food without the shame? Blossom Kitchen is the place for you. Boasting everything from excellently refined light bites with tantalisingly spicy gochujang marinated halloumi wrap or their fantastic crab salad with Thai basil and sriracha. The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa is a picturesque and charming country house hotel, located within the Bolton Abbey Estate.
Everything about 2-AA-Rosette awarded The Garden Room Restaurant exudes originality, with a beautiful array of main dishes and a five-course seafood-tasting menu, bound to impress.
They also serve one of the best afternoon teas in Yorkshire, choose from their Signature Afternoon Tea or luxurious Laurent Perrier Sparkling Afternoon Tea.

The casual sister restaurant to The Garden Room Restaurant, The Devonshire Arms’ Brasserie has a dazzling British menu with all the classic favourites. Set in vibrant decor to accompany an equally delightful menu.
Expect comforting dishes such as baked camembert to share sided with Manuka honey, garlic, thyme and sourdough croutons. Or local fish pie with sea vegetables and Dale End cheddar. No meal is complete without dessert, and the Devonshire Arms Brasserie offers some tempting treats. Finish off with sticky ginger sponge and spiced pineapple with coconut lime cream. Nestled in the beautiful Rylstone Fell in the Dales is The Angel, one of seven Michelin Star restaurants in Yorkshire and a stunning boutique hotel. Head Chef Michael Wignall presents astoundingly beautiful plates that look too good to eat. Almost.
Guests have the option between their two or three course al carte menu of adventurous flavours. Or we’d recommend to go all out with their impressive 5-course tasting menu. Phoebe’s is a great addition to the historical canal in Skipton, a bright bar and restaurant with extensive menu options for whatever the occasion. Their fragrant dishes elevate simplistic but quality ingredients, whether that be pan-fried Yorkshire asparagus with creamy burrata, wild mushroom aranchi, or slow-cooked lamb shoulder.
Phoebe’s also hosts themed nights, a great opportunity to celebrate or for a foodie date. Their latest Italian night brought the soul of Southern Italy to Skipton, with a four-course tasting menu that concluded with tiramisu and amaretto on ice.
Their themed nights sell out pretty quickly, so get them booked when you can!

Priding themselves on only using the freshest, seasonal produce, The Tempest Arms is a family and dog-friendly Inn in Skipton, with a generous menu. In the countryside, this cozy hotel and restaurant dates back to the 17th century.
Expect filling sandwiches, sirloin steak with triple-cooked chips, vine roast tomatoes garlic butter mushrooms, and classic British puds.
Sticky toffee pudding is a go-to, while a fragrant apricot and lavender crumble tart is another great option. Explore the Yorkshire Dales, relax, and come back to some quality home-cooked comfort food.

The pop-up marquee enjoys uninterrupted views over the magnificent Dales, where diners can feast ‘al fresco’ on freshly caught seafood, including shellfish from our East Yorkshire waters, in a beautiful and convivial setting.
Skipton has a seemingly inordinate amount of places to eat, but with The Elsworth Kitchen serving up all-day meals of this calibre, we’re jealous of its residents.
