Expect glamour and good food as an exciting new restaurant takes hold on Wade Lane, Leeds: Arnold’s Leeds Review
What better way to welcome in Autumn and the season of good food with a new and exciting fine dining experience in the centre of Leeds. Those familiar with Brasserie 44 will not be surprised to hear the family behind its success have now taken over the bottom floor of one of the cities busiest hotels, the Ibis Arena, located on Wade Lane in Leeds city centre.
Bringing together the best of Yorkshire produce and celebrating local, Arnold’s are serving a truly British experience with their classic take on everything we love about our home grown food.
Stylish and decorated, expect dinner and lunch to be served in comfortable surroundings. Arnold’s is in fact open an impressive 6 days a week with lunch and dinner being served from 12pm. We arrived at Arnold’s early last week for a taste from their traditional a la carte menu. Instantly familiar, the food served at Arnold’s is typically British and will not disappoint. Prices are reasonable as we looked over the choice of starters, main courses and desserts. Service was friendly as we made our orders, which included the excellent chicken liver parfait and a deliciously rich oxtail risotto served with aged parmesan and truffle oil to start.
Restaurateur Steve Ridleigh is no stranger to running successful restaurants and his vision here is as clear as ever as we spoke about their exciting times ahead. Having crafted an award-winning approach for over 30 years at the Calls Brasserie 44, Steve, along with head chef wife Carol will continue to do what they have always ever done, that is to serve the best in locally sourced food, only this time in newer and glitzy surroundings.
Catering for the business lunch as well as the fine dining evening goers is one of Arnold’s key priorities. Tonight we were the later and we were delighted with our main course of Holme Farm Venison served with cabbage, blackberries and red wine. We had also ordered the delicately served chicken breast with parmesan and breadcrumb in tarragon and cream sauce. Other options include a fabulous Chateaubriand for two, lamb rump and a taste of the sea in a serving of cod with a fine ratatouille in basil oil. Desserts are just as home comforting with apple crumble to a warm chocolate brownie with white chocolate and raspberry.
Arnold’s excellent new venture is to be a sure success from a family who has a proven track record in delivering the best across our region. If you want good food, something traditional and the best of British – then Arnold’s in Leeds should not be missed.
