The Terrace Restaurant Coming Soon as part of Swinton Park’s New £8M Investment
One of England’s largest privately owned estates, Swinton Estate in North Yorkshire will open a new £8-million-pound Country Club & Spa next month. A key part of the new development is The Terrace Restaurant & Bar with Executive Head Chef, Chris McPhee at the helm.
The Terrace Restaurant & Bar will celebrate produce from the estate and local area, infused with globally inspired flavours. On the menu are ingredients grown in the estate’s 4-acre walled garden – over 60 varieties of fruit and vegetables such as squash, courgettes, rhubarb, strawberries, alpine strawberries, Jerusalem artichokes and a very wide range of herbs.
Whatever the time of day, there will be something delectable to discover at The Terrace – beginning at 08:00am with an abundant hot and cold Brunch menu. Small plates and sharing boards will form the backbone of the new restaurant’s menu and ambiance, both at lunchtime and in the evening. For the health conscious, a wholesome but delicious range of salads will be on display, which can be topped with meat or fish cooked in the Josper grill. Afternoon treats are served every day and a children’s menu will also be available.
Inspired by the new spa, there will also be a collection of menus for nutritional wellness, to compliment spa days and packages focused on the four areas of Detox, the Sleep and the De-Stress missed Revitalise. Carefully crafted by the expert team of chefs, sample dishes may include:
- Detox – Josper roasted chicken breast, broccoli, lemon & ginger sauce, rocket
- Sleep – Smoked mackerel with quinoa and garden chard, green pesto
- De-Stress – Sauté of duck with water chestnuts, green beans and mandarin
Chris McPhee, Head Chef comments, “We are delighted to be offering our guests this exciting new dining experience. At the heart of The Terrace Restaurant are the freshest seasonal ingredients grown either here on the estate or from the local area, we are very proud to celebrate North Yorkshire.”
Cleverly bringing the outside in, the room is light and airy and features an open kitchen with a Kitchen Table and Josper grill. A mix of New England with Scandinavian touches, modern furniture and art have been combined with rustic garden elements. A wood-panelled bar and coffee house adjoins, housed in the castle’s former powerhouse, with its own private cigar and Champagne courtyard garden. The large terrace garden is the perfect spot for alfresco dining with plenty of heating and rugs – for that hygge experience.
