Along the way is the 16th-century Punch Bowl Inn, also rich in history. Once you’ve completed the circular route, cosy up amongst their original beams and open fires. The perfect setting to enjoy a local pint and their award-winning menu after an afternoon soaking up the scenery.

Malham Places to Visit in Yorkshire Dan Blackburn

Lister Arms, Yorkshire Dales – Malham Cove walk

The Lister Arms is a stylish boutique hotel in Malham, the Yorkshire Dales. Local walks include the Gordale Scar, the sight of which has inspired artists and writers like Wordsworth. Janet’s Foss is also nearby, a magical waterfall nestled in the Dales.

However, for us at Yorkshire Food Guide, the real winner is the Lister Arms’ home-cooked food and extensive wine list, with plenty of vegan options too.

We suggest booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Staithes Places to Visit in Yorkshire Beniamin Sinca

Cod and Lobster, Staithes – Runswick Bay

Staithes, a sleepier coastal town compared to the bustle of Whitby and Scarborough, is home to the Cod and Lobster. A real gem when it comes to Yorkshire pubs with walks, with seashore views, it’s a welcome sight after a windy coastal walk from Runswick Bay.

We’d go for the fresh seafood on offer, ‘Pan fried seabass’ or, of course, the infamous ‘Cod and Lobster’ itself.

They do get busy, especially during the school holidays – so plan ahead.
