The Wizard of Oz at Castle Howard
Much to our excitement, this years’ theme for Castle Howard’s festive takeover is The Wizard of Oz.
With festive installations transporting you to the land of Oz, explore Castle Howard’s stunning grounds and house.
Stroll around their gift shop and find the perfect Christmas gifts, enjoy a bite to eat from their street food market or sit down for a delicate afternoon tea.
This day out is perfect for all of the family, and especially us foodies!
The Bettys pop-up gift shop
For their second year, Betty’s pop-up gift shop is back at Castle Howard this festive season.
Synonymous with Yorkshire and celebrated internationally, Bettys is known for mouthwatering confectionery, chocolates, teas and coffees.
Their brand new pop-up shop at Castle Howard last year, was a huge success, so they are back for this year once again.
The shop will once again be situated inside the stately home’s Stable Courtyard, alongside Castle Howard’s Farm Shop, Courtyard Café, Coffee Shop and Garden Centre.
The shop will be open for the duration of Castle Howard’s award-winning Christmas experiences, which last year welcomed a record-breaking 105,000 visitors.
Expect Christmas hampers and gifts, as well as some of Bettys best-loved products to enjoy with take-away hot drinks.
To celebrate Castle Howard’s 2025 Christmas experience, a special-edition chocolate Toto and box of four Wizard of Oz-themed Fondant Fancies will be available exclusively at Castle Howard.
Castle Howard Visitor Attraction Director, Abbi Ollive, said: “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Bettys for a second year; a fantastic addition to our Stable Courtyard which is developing a reputation as a Christmas shopping destination.
The natural synergy between the two much-loved, iconic Yorkshire brands makes for a fantastic partnership, and is a real delight for our visitors, particularly the exclusive to Castle Howard-themed products.”
The Bettys pop-up shop opens 13th November 2024 – 4th January 2025, excluding 25th, 26th December and 1st January.
Christmas at Castle Howard with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz runs 13th November 2025 – 4th January 2026.
