Spring activities: Great British Food Festival
Great British Food Festival is back at Harewood House come the end of May, and it’s the perfect family friendly day out for foodies. With live entertainment, competitions, plenty of streetfood and over 100 top local and national producers.

Spring activities: Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Yorkshire Sculpture Park has plenty to be getting on with this May half-term. Their hidden forest activities are aimed at families with children under five, and include drawing, sculpture building and sensory activities. It’s also completely free.
In an idyllic setting, spend a long afternoon exploring the rest of the sculpture park – their onsite cafe and restaurant, The Weston has you sorted for homemade seasonal breakfast and lunch.

York Spring Fair and Food Festival
Back to York Knavesmire for only it’s second year, York Spring Fair and Food Festival is one largest vintage funfairs seen in North Yorkshire. This classic funfair is a real blast to the past, with dodgems, a helter skelter and swing boats too.
There’s plenty of streetfood, from proper burgers to woodfired pizzas, and picnic tables to enjoy your food in the sunshine. The perfect day out to keep everyone entertained, this festival is running throughout the half term holidays, from the 27th May – 5th June.

Activities at Brimham Rocks
Brimham Rocks is a great family friendly day out all year round, a collection of fascinating natural rock formations in North Yorkshire. Whether you fancy a long walk, or just need somewhere for the younger ones to let off some steam, Brimham Rocks is a great day out.
This half term, they are hosting pond dipping sessions, where kids can meet the park rangers and learn about the creatures who live at the pond. For the older ones, there’s even abseiling and climbing taster days.
