Harewood Food and Drink Project Announce New Michelin-starred Chefs

Harewood Food & Drink Project make two key appointments to their kitchen team, including a brand new events chef and head chef.

New Events Chef at Harewood Food and Drink Project

Will Campbell joins as Event Chef and will be leading on food delivery at all Harewood Food and Drink Project events; including their flagship ticketed events; Hidden Harewood, Dinner in the Woods and Dining Room at the Hovels.

He will also be responsible for all weddings and private catering menus at The Hovels, the Harewood Estate’s main event venue, as well as exclusive in-cottage dining in Harewood’s range of 13 luxury self-catering cottages.

Prior to joining the team, Will was Head Chef at Michelin-recommended Ox Club in Leeds, where he maintained the restaurant’s status in the Michelin guide and saw the restaurant’s popularity and reputation continue to grow.

Prior to this, he also worked in some of the region’s other best-loved restaurants including Michelin-starred Man Behind the Curtain in Leeds, amongst many others.

Guests can get a taste of Will’s food at Harewood Food and Drink Project’s upcoming Dinner in the Woods event which runs over four nights; the 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th August.

New Head Chef at Muddy Boots Café and Bistro

Joel joins the team as Head Chef at Muddy Boots Café & Bistro in Harewood Village. Joel was up until earlier this year, Chef Owner of Joel’s Restaurant in Ilkley.

Joels enjoyed a place in the Michelin Guide for five years straight and had developed a great reputation for its fine dining take on Asian street food.

Joel has launched a new menu at the café which will see more of an all-day brunch offer as well as leading on the popular Bistro nights which are relaunching, starting from the 16th of August.

Both Muddy Boots and our events business are busier than ever, we’ve plans to continue building on the great work of our team and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring in two chefs of the highest calibre in Will and Joel to help take us to the next level.

I think their style of food aligns perfectly with the direction we’re going in and it’s exciting to get them both on board as we continue to grow and improve everything we do here. Our customers are in for a treat and should book on to our upcoming events to try it for themselves”

No two days here are the same, it definitely keeps me on my toes! I’m extremely lucky to be cooking from a kitchen that opens up to amazing views and working so closely with the landscapes and ingredients that inspire my food.

The Hovels

The Hovels is a Grade II listed stable block built in the late 1700s and has had many different uses during its lifetime. From a basic dwelling, kennels, horse stables, hunting lodge and now it’s the Harewood Estates main event venue.

As well as ticketed fine dining events, the Hovels is available for private hire and is regularly used for weddings, corporate hire, Bah Mitzvahs and private functions. The building is fully licensed for alcohol sales and wedding ceremonies.

Muddy Boots Café and Bistro

The popular Muddy Boots Café & Bistro was taken over by the Harewood Food and Drink Project in 2018 and has since seen it grow in popularity.

The Café is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 4 pm serving a range of hot and cold breakfast and lunch items, hot drinks, cakes, and ice creams and is fully licensed for alcoholic drinks
