Marathon Du Malton : Join the tastiest 10K in Yorkshire
//= get_the_date( 'dS F Y' ); ?>
Marathon Du Malton is back! Known as “Britain’s Tastiest 10k,” the Malton 10k offers family fun with fitness, fresh air and delicious food.
Your pace is completely up to you, whether you’re a speedy runner aiming for a sub-40-minute finish, or if a casual stroll enjoying the gourmet delights along the course is more your thing.
Inspired by the French Marathon du Medoc, Marathon Du Malton has crafted three unique race options to suit every participant.
The ‘Sans Arret’ is a timed traditional race for serious runners.
For those who prefer a more relaxed approach, the ‘Le Classique’ fun run includes pit-stops for local treats.

Finally, ‘L’escargot’ offers a no-pressure stroll, allowing attendees to truly savour the local food and meet the producers.
Race organiser Mark Brayshaw says: “The staggered starts allow for a truly festive atmosphere”
“We’re seeing more and more runners complete the ‘Sans Arret’ and then join their friends and family for a more leisurely second go-around with ‘Le Classique’ or ‘L’escargot’ to enjoy the food.

The town comes alive with market stalls, local brass bands, and incredible food-themed fancy dress costumes.”
The event is renowned for its vibrant and creative costumes.
Runners and walkers have been spotted in everything from human-sized vegetable outfits to bunches of grapes and animal costumes. Even pets sometimes get involved, with ‘hot-dog’ Dachshunds seen joining in the fun.
The culinary offerings at Marathon Du Malton highlight the best of the region.
The course will feature traditional Yorkshire fare, such as roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, alongside locally produced wines, gin, and apple juice.

Participants can also sample game from the North York Moors, the finest macarons, and delightful vegan options from Malton’s own ToFoo.
Each race category at Marathon Du Malton starts and finishes at Malton Market Place.
‘Le Sans Arret’ begins at 10:45 a.m., followed by ‘Le Classique’ at 12:30 p.m., and ‘L’escargot’ at 12:40 p.m.
Spectators can also enjoy the festivities, supporting from the Market Place side lines whilst enjoying live entertainment, a Sunday market, and street food available from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
