The National Pub & Bar Awards 2019 | Winners Announced

A village inn near Thirsk has been named Best Pub in North Yorkshire in the 2019 National Pub and Bar Awards. The Carpenters Arms at Felixkirk beat competition from across England’s largest county to take the award.

The Carpenters Arms team will collect their award at a ceremony in London on Wednesday 22 May, which is hosted by restaurant critic Jay Rayner. The 15 regional winners and the overall National Pub and Bar of the Year will be announced.

The National Pub & Bar Awards aims to put the finest on-trade businesses across the UK in the spotlight, showcasing just how diverse and creative the hospitality industry really is. The announcement of this year’s 94 county champions showcases the level of quality being delivered to pub and bar visitors every day of the week.

The Carpenters Arms is part of the Provenance Inns and Hotels Group. This is the second year the Provenance Inns group and manager, Paulo Pinto, have been awarded with this accolade. Last year saw the Punch Bowl Inn at Marton Cum Grafton win.

Situated in the heart of the village of Felixkirk, the Carpenters Arms is a traditional pub with ten bedrooms and a restaurant which overlooks the beautiful Vale of Mowbray providing a spectacular backdrop for a relaxed and delicious meal, along with a tiered terrace, a great spot for al fresco dining. In common with the other Provenance Inns, its menus offer classic dining with locally sourced ingredients, such as Yorkshire beef and lamb.
