Everything You Need to Know About North Leeds Food Festival
Yorkshire’s best chefs will be showcasing their talents at North Leeds Food Festival in Roundhay Park over two dates in 2021, in partnership with Yorkshire Food Guide and Leeds Cookery School
After being forced to cancel in 2020, organisers are bringing the North Leeds Food Festival back to Roundhay Park for its 5th-anniversary celebrations on 7-8 August and 11th-12th September 2021, and promise a bigger selection of food and drink, alongside brand new performances and attractions.
For North Leeds Food Festival attendees looking for some exciting food-related activities, The Cookery Theatre will be taking centre stage after its initial success in 2019, with support from Leeds Cookery School and Yorkshire Food Guide. Experienced chefs from across the region will be presenting original dishes and entertaining attendees with five performances a day, including Brett Lee, local owner of Stuzzi Restaurant in Leeds that specialises in Italian cuisine, Jamie Clinton, head chef of Shears Yard known for his unique dishes, and Afsaneh Kaviani, owner of Afsaneh’s Kitchen, who was a 2012 Masterchef contestant, and now runs her own Persian supper club and provides private cooking classes.

What’s On at North Leeds Food Festival 2021
North Leeds Food Festival’s focus is on a huge selection of freshly made international cuisine, independent bars and breweries, an expansive artisan market featuring local produce, craft and wellbeing businesses. the main stage will have live music, entertainers and performers, an extensive children’s activities programme, including magic, shows, a traditional funfair and animal exhibits that encourage the whole family to get involved.
Celebrating international cuisine, North Leeds Food Festival will feature a huge variety of popular street food traders from across the UK, all showcasing their unique dishes. This includes traditional Italian, Greek, Lebanese, Japanese, American and Canadian cuisine, as well as some home comforts and specialist dessert traders. There will also be catering options for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets.
As always, the backdrop to the North Leeds Food Festival will be the Main Stage, featuring local singers, musicians and performers, including Jess Simpson, covering classics from 1950s Motown, pop, blues and country up to the present day, and Andy Taft, with his soulful guitar sound, creating 1970s ethereal soft rock.
The North Leeds Food Festival is partnered with charity MIND and will be helping to raise money for their Leeds team, which support those suffering from mental health difficulties.
With excellent transport links, and dogs welcome, thousands are expected to join the celebrations at Roundhay Park on August 7th and 8th.
