Biggest new openings coming to Yorkshire
Federal Café and Bar
York’s coffee scene is about to get a little more exciting as Manchester-born favourite Federal makes its city-centre debut on Coney Street.
Taking over the former Lush site, the much-loved café brand is bringing its signature blend of speciality coffee, all-day brunch and laid-back Australian-inspired hospitality to one of York’s busiest streets. Expect good coffee, generous plates and plenty of buzz when the doors open.
Tamper, Ecclesall Road
Sheffield brunch favourite Tamper is expanding, with a brand-new site set to open on Ecclesall Road.
Known for its speciality coffee and og’s of the laid-back brunch scene, the original has long been a go-to for Sheffield’s food crowd, and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s in store for its next chapter. Watch this space for more details!
Caffè Brigante Ilkley
The team behind Caffè Brigante, the popular tiramisu café in Leeds, are bringing something exciting to Ilkley with the opening of a brand-new pizzeria on Brook Street. Set to open this autumn/winter, the new venue will serve authentic wood-fired pizzas, bringing a true taste of Italy to the town.
The pizzeria will be located at 26 Brook Street, the former home of Yorkie Cow.
Mercato Sheffield
Stop what you’re doing! Domo, our favourite Italian restaurant in Sheffield, is opening a deli called Mercato on Green Lane this Autumn.
The team shared the news on Instagram, showcasing a playful open-production kitchen that brings together everything we love about the Sardinian restaurant.
Rotisserie Club
Rotisserie Club will be serving coffee in the morning, and then you can get your chicken-fix from lunchtime onwards, what more could you want? The coffee will be in collaboration with Habitum and it is set to open this October as 27 Wellington Street.
Paper Planes
Leeds is set to welcome a new cocktail bar, Paper Planes, on October 29th, with hospitality group Palagander behind the project.
Described as a “love letter to the analogue age”, the bar will draw on a nostalgic aesthetic while offering a contemporary drinking experience. They will play records on vinyl and take orders only with pad and pen, an effort to move away from the digital age.
Earls Yard
Located on Mathilda Street in Sheffield city centre is free to enter and provides the perfect setting for a hang out with friends.
This social venue is home to multiple street food vendors on rotation, plenty of outdoor seating and a stage for its frequent live musicians. Earls Yard is the perfect open-air social spot that acts as a community hub that provides a great night of good food shared with friends.
My Delhi, Leeds
Making its first move to Yorkshire, My Delhi will be joining Leeds’ vibrant restaurant scene just a short walk from the famous Greek Street at Hepper House.
Having built a successful name for themselves in Newcastle, Sunderland and Leicester, we cannot wait to try their famous kebabs cooked over charcoal in the tandoor and mouthwatering slow-cooked curries this Autumn/Winter.
NIPO, Harrogate
Harrogate is set to welcome NIPO to Parliament Street, bringing its distinctive Japanese-Brazilian concept from Newcastle to North Yorkshire.
Expect a fusion of Japanese precision and Brazilian flair, with expertly crafted sushi, robata-grilled dishes and bold flavours inspired by São Paulo’s vibrant food scene. Rumoured to be opening very soon, we are so excited for this addition to Parliament Street!
Casa del Alma, Harrogate
Another Harrogate new opening, Casa del Alma, is preparing to open on Princes Square, taking over the former Sasso Italian restaurant.
From authentic Mexican dishes to margaritas and tequila, the new restaurant and bar comes from MasterChef quarter-finalist Chef Matei Baran, who already runs a restaurant in Darlington and a street food venture in Saltburn. The team is aiming to open in mid-November.
Sticks’n’Sushi
Danish-based, Sticks’n’sushi is gracing Leeds with its award-winning sushi and Yakatori. Planned for opening in early 2027, we have a bit to wait for this taste of Japan – but we know it’ll be worth it.
Offering that Scandi serenity, this is the perfect spot to let the food do the talking and enjoy some exquisite Japanese cuisine down on Vicar Lane.

Calluna at Saltmoore
Now open at Saltmoore, Calluna offers an intimate fine dining experience led by Executive Chef Adam Maddock.
Its tasting menu takes inspiration from the landscape surrounding the estate, bringing together flavours from the Yorkshire coast and kitchen garden with the wild beauty of the North York Moors.

66 Sheep Street, Skipton
66 Sheep Street has opened in Skipton, featuring MasterChef star Tom Rennolds’ vision for an independent bakery, bar, and bistro.
This welcoming all-day spot serves everything from morning coffee and baked treats to long lunches and drinks with friends, becoming a part of the local community.

Crumb
Crumb Bakery has now opened its second location in Masham, following the success of its popular Sheffield bakery.
This family-run artisan spot is serving up freshly baked breakfast pastries, sourdough, doughnuts and sandwiches – making it one to add to your Masham food list.
Trattoria Maria, Sheffield
From the creators of Bench and Bench la Cave, Jack Wakelin and Tom Aronica have opened the doors to Trattoria Maria, their version of traditional Italian dining, inspired by their Sicilian roots and childhood summers spent enjoying Italian cuisine.
Trattoria Maria is on Wellington Street, in the former Henry’s Wine Bar. You can expect their classic, open, sociable style of interior, but with typical Italian hospitality and warmth.
Brume, York
From the family behind El Gaucho York, Brume is a new coffee spot and wine bar come the evening, nestled on Walmgate.
This neighbourhood spot will be hosting run clubs and wine tasting events to get involved with, so there’s something for everyone. We’re looking forward to giving this new opening a try ourselves.
Ambiente, Beverley
Paellas, platters and Spanish-inspired tapas, Ambiente is a favourite for tapas in Leeds, Hull and York. Now they’re bringing Spanish flavours to the market town of Beverly.
You can expect all the dishes that have given these guys a name for great tapas in a 120-cover restaurant – you’ll have to give it a try for yourself.
