We’re all on the countdown for 12th April 2021, the date at which we can dine outdoors at our favourite restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars. There will be no curfew and the ‘scotch egg’ substantial meal debate will be no more – you can have a drink without food. With the ‘rule of 6’ (or two households) and table service in place, grab your seat (quickly), sit back, relax and treat yourself to that bottle of fizz.
We’ll be adding to our list of pubs and restaurants re-opening in Yorkshire from 12th April, as and when the details are announced.

Hull Marina’s J.Johnsons will be serving up mouth-watering ‘deli plates’ and mouthwatering bistro dishes to compliment your glass of choice, from 15th April.
Butler Whites
Located at Hull’s bustling Marina area, casual bistro Butler Whites offers a delicious meal from lunch to dinner. Opening from 15th April, Thursday – Sunday. Sit back and relax, and enjoy their selection of Asian seafood, Yorkshire classics such as belly pork and fillet steak, or Italian inspired baked doughs.
Solita Beverley
This brand new opening for Beverley is already fill up fast. Serving 100% British Wagyu beef burgers, wings, cocktails and good times, from brunch through to dinner. Located in North Bar Within, one of the town’s most historic streets. Their outdoor drinking and dining area is at the ready to welcome you.

HARROGATE
The West Park Hotel
Welcoming you back with a delicious Spring Menu of comfort food classics, using local produce from their Mount St John kitchen garden. Enjoyed al fresco within their brand new covered backyard terrace or grab one of their covered tables at the front of the hotel, overlooking Harrogate’s stunning Stray parkland. They’re ready whatever the weather.
Solita Food Hall, Harrogate
Harrogate’s exciting new food hall with roof top terrace opens from 12th April on Parliament Street. Launched by award-winning Yorkshire group, Shoot The Bull UK. The large outdoor terrace seats 60 and you’ll be able to choose dishes from 6 of their kitchen traders with cocktail in hand. Expect bottomless brunch, Yorkshire Wagyu steaks, burgers, pizza, charcuterie and much more.
Three’s A Crowd
Harrogate’s popular gastropub overlooking the beautiful Stray with be open for drinks and dining at the front of the restaurant, and on their back heated terrace. The Terrace Menu will be a selection of Three’s A Crowd favourites. Bookings being taken for half of their tables, with other half open for walk ins. Open 12 – 11 pm (Monday – Saturday) and 12 – 9 pm (Sunday).
The Fat Badger
Harrogate foodies will be happy to know The Fat Badger will re-open from the 12th of April. Expect brand new seasonal menus together with the launch of ‘Pod Ville’ an expansion of their alfresco dining space for an additional 72 diners. Each pod has seating for up to 6 people in a private dining area. Pods are available to book from 5th April and are expected to sell out fast!
Ales in the Dales at The Yorkshire Hotel
The Pickled Sprout is back with new spring/summer dishes, alongside the launch of a large outdoor drinking and dining area in the shape of a fully landscaped Yorkshire Dales garden. Perfect for dining alfresco. The ‘Ales in the Dales’ garden is open for a limited time only from 12th April – 16th May.
The Bear at Carriages, Knaresborough
Street food inspired open fire cooking, craft beers, small batch spirits, cocktails and 30 wines by the glass – our idea of heaven. Back on their glorious terrace overlooking that renowned viaduct from 12th April. Bookings are essential.
Grantley Hall – Ripon
North Yorkshire’s luxurious country house hotel will be offering three outstanding outdoor dining options, including a brand new alfresco dining space, The Orchard. Each space will be covered and heated and will offer a different view of the hotel’s gorgeous grounds and formal gardens, set against the backdrop of the rolling countryside and Yorkshire Dales.
HELMSLEY
The Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa
The Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa will open up its outdoor Mediterranean terrace, outdoor pool and some spa facilities from Thursday 15th April. Enjoy a well-earned pampering treat, a dip in the pool and cheeky glass of fizz on the poolside terrace, together with a spot of al fresco dining, weather permitting. Dishes include cheese, charcuterie platters, seafood, vegetarian and vegan plates, and a selection of summer salads and main course options
The Star Inn at Harome
This picturesque and hugely popular Michelin Starred Inn at Harome will open for alfresco dining and drinks from 12th April.
KIRKBY FLEETHAM
The Black Horse Inn at Kirkby Fleetham
Enjoy delicious food, real cask ales and rolling hillside views in this beautiful area of North Yorkshire. The Black Horse at Kirkby Fleetham are ready to welcome guests old and new from the 12th April.
RICHMOND
The Black Bull Inn Moulton – Richmond
The Black Bull Inn, famed for its seafood, has an exceptional a la carte menu of the highest quality, with innovative dishes and traditional classics, both utilizing the freshest seasonal ingredients.
SCARBOROUGH
The Plough Inn at Scalby
One of North Yorkshire’s favourite foodie destinations, (Good Food Guide recommended no less) The Plough in the village of Scalby, will re-open from Wednesday the 14th of April. Serving drinks from Wednesday – Thursday then food and drinks from Friday onwards.
The Copper Horse at Seamer
Visitors to the North Yorkshire coast will be familiar with the great hospitality and seasonal dishes The Copper Horse at Seamer is renowned for. Re-open from Saturday the 17th of April to welcome guests back in their outdoor seating area.
SEDBERGH
The Black Bull Inn – Sedbergh
The team at The Black Bull Inn have created a festival style space in the historic pub’s beer garden. The Stables outdoor bar will be serving a selection of drinks to socially distance tables ‘bierkeller style’ in the spacious Meadow, which provides 30 tables located under pergolas, perfect for keeping diners snug and dry while they enjoy a drink, some food and a well deserved catch up. There’s a choice of food on offer, including handmade sourdough pizzas, cooked in their giant wood fired Gozney pizza oven, seafood dishes cooked over coals on their bespoke blacksmith made BBQ and griddle, including fresh langoustine with chimichurri, Lake District lobster with garlic butter, alongside spit roasted dishes, including slow cooked Howgill beef brisket, Height of Winder Farm leg of lamb, served with homemade bread and grilled seasonal vegetables. A variety of vegetarian dishes will be on offer too including cauldron cooked lentil and chickpea curry, wild garlic and rosemary wood fire cooked wedges. We cannot wait!

Keelham Farm Shop Kitchen
Headed up by Executive Chef, Timothy Kitchen, Keelham Kitchen uses seasonal local produce that is found in their award-winning farm shop. Their brand new outdoor courtyard is ready to welcome guests from the 12th of April. Enjoy a selection of antipasti, sharing boards, wood-fired pizzas and sweet treats whilst taking in the stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales.
The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa
From 12th April The Dev’s hugely popular Laurent-Perrier Champagne & Seafood Terrace opens, along with the Brasserie terrace and new ‘Secret Spa‘. Enjoy uninterrupted views over the magnificent Dales, where you can feast alfresco on freshly caught seafood, including shellfish from our East Yorkshire waters.
The Coniston Hotel, Country Estate and Spa, Skipton
Nestled in the heart of a 1,400-acre estate, The Coniston Hotel is where you’ll find award-winning fine dining, a luxury spa, and beautiful accommodation that boasts stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales.
Outdoor dining will reopen from 12th April on the View restaurant’s brand new all-year-round covered alfresco dining area, and on their Blossom Kitchen Terrace (Spa eatery). Enjoy delicious afternoon teas and modern British dishes from the View Restaurant and Asian inspired dishes from Blossom Kitchen. They’ll have a live Pianist in The View restaurant, every Wednesday from 5 pm. And, their Spa development plans are pretty special too!
THIRSK
The Carpenters Arms
The Carpenters Arms will be back from the 12th April serving the finest locally sourced seasonal ingredients from their neighbouring kitchen garden. Together with local craft ales, fine wines and a selection of cocktails in their picturesque beer garden. With additional marquees, heaters and view of the beautiful countryside, there’s no finer place we’d rather be.
YORK
The Lamb & Lion Inn
With possibly the best views of Yorks’ Iconic Minster, the Lamb & Lion beer garden is one of the best places in the city for alfresco dining and drinks. With a brand-new seasonal menu launching for the reopening on the 12th of April, early booking is highly recommended for one of the best seats in town.
Guy Fawkes Inn
One of York’s most famous Inns and birthplace of Guy Fawkes, reopens from the 12th of April. Expect real cask ales, the launch of a brand-new seasonal menu of mouth-watering dishes, plus a heated beer garden with views of the Minster.

HALIFAX
Shibden Mill Inn
Halifax’s foodie favourite and one of the UK’s Top 50 Gastropubs are getting ready for a post lockdown re-opening to remember. From the 12th April guests can enjoy a selection of sourdough pizzas, shawarmas, nibbles and sides in one of Yorkshire’s most picture postcard beer gardens. They’ll have the BBQ fired up, cocktails from the Clocktower Bar, plus coffee and cake from The Kitchen café.

Their outdoor area is small but charming, and if there are no seats available, there is an expanse of a grassed area with canal side views just out the front, perfect for a little alfresco picnic with items from the deli counter.

Canal-side pub and restaurant spot for dinner with friends, a casual date, or lazy board games on a Sunday afternoon. Easily one of our favourite beer gardens and all-round top pubs, Beck & Call have announced outdoor bookings are live from the 12th April – 16th May. Expect great food, fab drinks and an outdoor space that gets every drop of sunshine. Early bookings are a must.
Chophaus
As well as unveiling their brand-new heated terrace that can seat up to 80, the team behind the popular steakhouse and bar are launching their most ambitious menus to date. All curated by chef Lee Murdoch, who’s name you may recognise from Harrogate’s Three’s A Crowd and Leeds’ Crafthouse and Angelica. Open for bookings from 12th April.
