Tacos Are The Food Trend Of 2017 & Street Cleaver Show York How It’s Done
//= get_the_date( 'dS F Y' ); ?>
Tacos are officially the foodie trend of 2017 and we don’t mean the highly breakable, bright yellow half-shells in the back of your cupboard. We mean authentic, homemade soft tortillas with killer toppings to wrap your chops around.
Whilst in the beautiful centre of York last weekend we only had one place on our mind after seeing Street Cleaver’s mouth-watering tacos lighting up our Instagram feed.

Known for his Asian style street food that is all made from scratch, chef Mark Hill has now taken up permanent residency at the popular Evil Eye Cocktail Lounge. Serving up fresh and exciting dishes such as ‘Crispy Chicken Waffles’ and ‘Indian Egg Rolls’ for brunch to ‘Bao Buns’ and our choice – ‘Asian Tacos’ brimming with delicious homemade ingredients for lunch.
We opted for ‘Korean Crispy Chicken’ with citrus dressed slaw, pickled radish and chili ailoli and ‘Confit Miso Belly Pork’ with cheat vegan kimchi, pickled cucumber and hoisin. We were blown away by the presentation and flavour combinations.
Three incredible tacos devoured we couldn’t leave without sampling the Japanese donuts. Crispy bao buns fried then coated in the most amazing honey and rosewater syrup and finished off with a sprinkle of rose petals. Absolute heaven!

Paying a visit to sample Street Cleaver’s food is a must next time you’re in York.
