Popular Portuguese Restaurant in York to Launch New Concept

The popular Tasca Frango in York city centre is set to open a new restaurant this Autumn at The Cocoa Works.
Following the success of the popular restaurant, which opened in the Summer of last year, owners Ted Hustler and Emma Hargreaves are set to open another restaurant focusing on Portuguese-inspired cuisine.
Cavo will be The Cocoa Works’ exclusive food and beverage operator, serving small plates of Portuguese-inspired cuisine, freshly baked pastries, and sustainable coffee, all available for dining in or takeaway.
The team behind Tasca Frango in York will debut their new concept this Autumn, at Huntington’s The Cocoa Works William Sutton Pavilion. .
The opening comes after the City of York Council’s licensing committee granted an alcohol licence in August, amid noise concerns from local residents.
The building, which will house the new restaurant concept is expected to be finished in the coming weeks, featuring outdoor and community event spaces.
The building is a part of the Cocoa Works, a brand-new residential complex with 279 apartments on the site of York’s famous former Rowntree’s Factory.
Announcing on social media about the new venture for Tasca Frango York, the team said: “Something exciting is coming soon🍷☕
Get ready for the perfect spot to sip, relax, and unwind. Keep your eyes peeled for more details on the opening of Cavo, we can’t wait to bring you along on the journey 🤍”
Serving up some of the best authentic Portuguese cuisine in the city, Tasca Frango York transforms simple ingredients into delectable dishes, from peri-peri chicken to juicy piranha steak with chimichurri.
Cavo is set to open in the coming weeks, with a grand opening date to be announced on social media.
