The Grand York announces launch of new luxury spa this December

The Grand York’s spa has undergone a £2.5 million refurbishment, and now they have announced the news we’ve all been waiting for.

This December, the five-star hotel will launch their luxurious new spa, SubRosa.

The popular hotel is York’s only 5-star hotel, situated just up from the train station on Station Rise.

With a unique and elevated wellness offering, SubRosa is built into the heart of the hotel’s vaults, offering a secluded and serene space for all, but inspired by experiences from around the world.

A Latin name meaning “under the rose” the concept is steeped in ancient Roman meanings related to secrecy, nurture and care.

Here guests can descend into the The Grand’s Spa and re-emerge feeling renewed.

There will be three new rituals to choose from, Rosa, Alba and Radix, for full day, half day and evening spa experiences.

The refurbishment has also uniquely launched a new restaurant with delicious dishes inspired by Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai and Korean cuisine.

The Grand York spa,  SubRosa and accompanying restaurant will be yet another luxurious amenity within the hotel, alongside its wealth of award-winning restaurants and its cookery school, which continues to impress locals and tourists alike.

Restaurants within The Grand include The Rise an AA Rosette restaurant serving contemporary British cuisine with a Yorkshire twist.

Using the best seasonal produce on offer, The Rise features an open kitchen for an immersive dining experience and a rooftop terrace overlooking the historic city walls of York.

Legacy at The Grand has fine dining covered, with eclectic tasting menus and expert wine pairings, and their 1906 bar is an intimate spot to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail.

Many though, go for their tempting afternoon tea, with warmed scones, delicate finger sandwiches and patisserie – delicious.

The Grand York spa, SubRosa will open in December, and pre-bookings ar  available from the 23rd of September for treatments, packages and dining.
