3 Yorkshire Italian Restaurants Named Best in UK in Prestigious Awards

The top restaurants in the UK to try proper, authentic Italian food have been announced at the 8th annual Italian Awards 2024.

The renowned awards were hosted at The Queens Hotel in Leeds over the weekend, commemorating the Italian food industry in the UK, with several deserved winners taking home an award, including three from Yorkshire.

The UK Italian Awards celebrate the best of Italian restaurants, highlighting their service, culinary quality, menu options, and much more.

From Best Chef to Best Wine Selection, these awards consider every aspect of what makes a good Italian restaurant.

Livin Italy, Leeds – Best Wine Selection

Starting off with one of the best Italian restaurants in Leeds, Livin Italy scooped up the award for having the best wine selection in the country at the UK Italian Awards. The restaurant hosts a vast selection of wines as well as being part of The Italian Wine Sommelier Association.

Announcing in a post on social media, the popular Italian eatery announced: “WE WON! 🥳🏆 What a night we had at @italian_awards last night in Leeds. Valentino’s, Wakefield – Best Family-Friendly Restaurant & Best Restaurant in Yorkshire

This unassuming Italian restaurant in the outskirts of Wakefield came home with two big awards at the UK Italian Awards. Winning both the Best Family-Friendly Restaurant Award and the overall Best Restaurant in Yorkshire Award, Valentino’s offers a unique Italian dining experience to West Yorkshire. Expect a wide range of dishes from meaty and seafood plates of pasta to stuffed calzones and a huge pizza menu.

Cicchetti Lounge, York – Best Newcomer

Having only opened in October 2023, the Cicchetti Lounge has proved extremely popular with locals in York. Their menu is primarily focused on individual small plates and sharing platters, with dishes such as Italian lamb skewers and king prawns in a cherry tomato and chilli sauce featured on the menu. Winning the Best Newcomer Award at the UK Italian Awards, it marks a successful first year in business.
