Finalists announced for Visit York Tourism Awards 2025

The Visit York Tourism Awards have announced their finalists for 2025 to honour excellence in all things travel, hospitality and culture in the historic city of York.
The team of distinguished judges has chosen the best companies and individuals who have made outstanding achievements in their respective categories following a careful examination of all the entries.
The finalists, who represent some of the best businesses in York, are the epitome of excellence and commitment to serving York’s 9 million annual tourists.
2025 also sees some new awards being given out, including the Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award, awarding businesses which interact with customers in ethical and sustainable ways.
The new Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award honours businesses which excel in providing an inclusive customer experience, especially for those with accessibility requirements.
Winners across a number of categories will be automatically nominated for the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025.

With a focus on the food and drink scene, the Tourism Awards are truly celebrating the best of the hospitality industry in York and the surrounding areas.
Middletons Hotel, Aldwark Manor Estate and Sandburn Hall have all come out top for the Large Hotel of the Year award, with the winner also earning a place in the Visit England awards.

Another entry for the Visit England awards next year, the New Tourism Business Award celebrates new businesses in York’s bustling food and drink industry.
The Old Liquor Store, Ampleforth Abbey and the newly renovated The Riverfront, York are the finalists for this category.
The Drovers Arms in Skipwith came up top for a couple of categories in the Visit York Tourism Awards, for both Pub of the Year and the Taste of England Award both also eligible for a Visit England nomination.
Plonkers Wine Bar and Bistro is also competing for the Pub of the Year title while The Whippet Inn and Forest are nominated for the Taste of England award.
