Yorkshire Distillery To Appear in New Channel 4 Series

After being kept secret for a year, Whitby Distillery has announced they will feature in Channel 4’s brand new series Yorkshire By The Sea.

The new series is a celebration of the people and stunning coastal scenery across the county, telling tales of locals and business owners who live and work along the breathtaking Yorkshire coast.

Co-founders Luke and Jessica worked with the crew from the show for several weeks last Summer, showcasing exactly how they make their award-winning spirits.

Whitby Distillery started out as an idea from a camping trip in the Outer Hebrides, where Luke and Jessica would forage in the North York Moors for their signature botanicals for their spirits.

Whitby Gin selection

Over the past few years, all kinds of signature flavours have been developed and mastered with the ‘beach to batch’ motto still followed today.

The products at Whitby Distillery feature a wide range of gins and rums from dark spiced rum to flavoured gins from ‘rhubarb’ to ‘dark chocolate bar’.

Giving back to their Whitby community, Whitby Distillery are also creating their very own spirit walkway this year, to celebrate all the people who have helped to get the business to where they are now.

Anyone is able to add their name to the walkway, which will create a path to at their new Whitby Distillery site near the grounds of the historic Whitby Abbey.

The new Channel 4 show Yorkshire By The Sea launched this week, with the episode focusing on the volunteers at ‘Seabird City’ and open-water swimmers in Scarborough’s South Bay beach.

Whitby Distillery will feature in next week’s episode on Monday 12th August at 8 pm on Channel 4.
