Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July 2017 sees Yorkshire chef James Martin and Aussie Masterchef, John Torode appearing at The Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival, Funkirk Farm near Skipton for a weekend of top nosh, great grub, delectable drinks, excellent entertainment and family fun!
We got a Family Weekend Ticket up for grabs, which includes entrance to the festival on both days for 2 adults and up to 3 children aged 8-16 (under 7s are free). Simply visit our Facebook page to enter.
James Martin said, “I had a great time entertaining the crowd at the event in 2016 and I’m really excited about coming back this year”.
This year the event has moved venue to accommodate growing visitor numbers – around 15,000 are expected to attend the event and taste culinary delights from the 250+ traders, street food and artisan producers.
Nigel Brown and his Cookery Academy will be joining the festival line-up to give visitors free cooking workshops and over 10 chefs have been brought in to show off their gastronomic recipes in our Local Chefs Cookery Theatre as spectators listen to where the food comes from, how to get the best out of your pots and pans and watch four chefs go head to head in a cook off without knowing the ingredients they have to use!
You will also get the chance to try craft beers and artisan sausages in the Beers and Bangers tent – plus have you ever fancied yourself as a bit of a Tom Cruise? Well you won’t want to miss the wizardry of our pro bartenders – mixing, making and shaking up some fantastic cocktails in the Spirits And Cocktail Theatre, making sure the party has most definitely started.
It’s a weekend family event and there’s plenty for the children to do, from the Vintage Fun Fair and educational talks about birds of prey to a kids area full of fun activities to keep them occupied – the event has it all!
