Wakefield Rhubarb Festival
25th – 27th February 2022
Wakefield Rhubarb Festival is back for 2022 with a bang. Wakefield Council’s celebration of the district’s most famous vegetable returns to paint the city pink from 25th – 27th February.
Coinciding with the growing season, which in the Rhubarb Triangle involves special sheds and a process known as “forcing”, the festival brings the city centre to life over three days. With a full programme of chef demos, family workshops and of course, the famous food and drink market.
Curated and hosted by our team at the Yorkshire Food Guide, a programme of chef demos will run from 11am to 3pm across the whole weekend. Featuring chefs from Great British Bake Off, BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, MasterChef finalists and more.
New for 2022, the Wakefield Rhubarb Festival will include a Rhubarb Food & Drink Trail around the city centre, allowing visitors to sample rhubarb cocktails, pastries and dishes from local bars, restaurants and cafes. A bookable Gin Experience with local producer Forged Spirits will also extend the festival into the evening on Friday and Saturday.
