Yemen Heaven in York serves some of the city’s best Middle Eastern and Yemeni cuisine, showcasing favourites like traditional mezze and freshly baked Manousha in their relaxed restaurant setting.

As York’s first restaurant of its kind, Yemen Heaven showcases Yemeni hospitality in a modern setting. Their dishes, crafted with traditional techniques and fresh ingredients, offer a genuine taste of Yemen.

Founded by Mona, whose Yemeni roots inspired her cooking, the restaurant started with home-cooked meals in 2019 and opened its doors in 2022 in a historic Grade II-listed building, celebrating family and culinary traditions.

Today Mona’s slow-cooked stews, spice-layered broths, and hand-stretched breads are at the centre of the restaurant, sharing the essence of Yemen with every visitor.
