Rick Stein visits Yorkshire restaurant as part of new BBC series
//= get_the_date( 'dS F Y' ); ?>Rick Stein has left a Yorkshire restaurant overjoyed after making a secretive visit to their site in Leeds and putting them on the telly.
The popular chef has recently been touring the country filming his new BBC series, Rick Stein’s Food Stories, which sees Stein visit different cities and counties across the UK, sampling various local delicacies along the way.
As part of the new 15-episode series he has visited various locations including Cumbria, Northern Ireland, Kent, Birmingham and Bristol – but, of course, the episode we’re most looking forward to watching is the Yorkshire one.
Those involved have been keeping things pretty hush-hush so far, but after the show’s first episode aired on Monday night Yorkshire restaurant Bundobust took to Instagram to share their joy at their involvement.
Speaking of a recent ‘secret’ visit by Rick Stein, the team shared that they will appear in the Yorkshire episode – and it is airing very soon.
Sharing the news with followers, the Bundobust team wrote: “Somehow managed to (mostly) keep this one a secret, but we recently got a visit from Rick Stein as part of his new Food Stories show, starting tonight on BBC Two!
“Little old us, on the same channel as legends like Paxman, Vic, Bob, and Sargeant Bash!!
They continued: “The Yorkshire episode airs 18:30 no the 28th Feb so we won’t spoil anything, but if you can’t wait until then to see what we got up to (not to mention some top not archive footage of John Betejeman in @whitelocksalehouse) you can catch it on iPlayer now.”
Followers were quick to chime in with their own enthusiasm, with fellow Yorkshire favourites Prashad commenting: “You know we’ll be watching”
Another follower wrote: “Just heard Rick on the radio talking about you guys”
A third added: “So well deserved, you guys are amazing. Never had anything so casually delicious in my life, like “oh yeah… we do that, that’s easy…”
Bundobust first opened in Leeds in 2014 and has firmly established itself as a favourite for Indian street food, setting itself apart with its flavourful vegetarian and vegan offering.
It now has five UK sites, including its own Bundobust brewery which is located in Manchester.
The Yorkshire episode of Rick Stein’s Food Stories will air on 28th February on BBC Two.
