MasterChef finalist and Great British Menu star launch exclusive private dining concept
Culinary stars George Birtwell and Samira Effa have officially joined forces to launch The Epicurean Duo, an exclusive private dining experience designed to bring locally sourced, restaurant-quality food directly into the heart of people’s homes.
George, a celebrated finalist in MasterChef: The Professionals 2024, and Samira, a standout competitor on this year’s Great British Menu, are combining their wealth of talent, creativity and passion for exceptional dining to offer a bespoke culinary service unlike any other.
The couple, who have years of experience in some of the UK’s top kitchens, will curate intimate, tailor-made menus that celebrate seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and provenance, creating unforgettable dining experiences for clients.
The Epicurean Duo will allow guests to enjoy the artistry of two of the UK’s most exciting chefs in a private and personal setting. Both George and Samira will be working on this new venture alongside their full-time commitments, showcasing their dedication to bringing their vision to life.

Head Chef at Grantely Hall’s Bar & Restaurant EightyEight, Samira draws on her eclectic upbringing and mixed Iranian-Nigerian heritage. Constantly learning new things after more than 17 years in the tough industry.
Samira added: “Cooking has always been about storytelling for me and this venture gives us both a chance to collaborate with clients in an intimate way. Each menu will be bespoke, designed with care and creativity to deliver something truly unique for the occasion.”
The Epicurean Duo will be offering private dining experiences for intimate dinners, celebrations and special events, with personalised tasting menus at the core of the offering.
Together, their partnership blends technical expertise, creativity and a shared love of showcasing great ingredients.
