Bradford, the City of Culture 2025, is set to welcome the brand-new Darley Street Market this summer.
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: “We can’t wait to welcome people to Darley Street Market. This is just a flavour of what we’ve got organised for our opening weekend celebrations.
“The stalls will be open and trading, and there will also be tasters and giveaways.”
The weekend of events, taking place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th July throughout will be a celebration of local culture and food.
There will be plenty of fun things to see and do while people check out the new market and sample the flavours of the Darley Street Kitchen.

Award-winning chefs
Expect culinary masterclasses from local and regional chefs, including Imogen Tilt, head chef at The Hawthorne in Haworth, and Master Chef UK 2023 Quarter Finalist Owen Diaram.
Chef will join to inspire people to shop for ingredients from the Fresh Food Hall, to make their versions of the dishes at home.
Chefs from the new Darley Street Kitchen, which is opening on the top floor of the new Darley Street Market, will also be showcasing their cuisine with cooking demonstrations.
Join talks and Q&As with Mr & Mrs Yorkshire AKA Danny Malin and Sophie Mei Lan, who will be chatting all things grub and laughter.

Family fun
Children will be able to join in with activities, get hands-on with Aardman creative workshops and watch films from the Wallace and Gromit creators.
For the little ones (under 5s), there will be face painting and activities for children to explore colour and textures, encouraging creative play inspired by produce from some of the market stalls.
People can take part in a Darley Street Market-inspired trail and create their own printed postcard by following a trail throughout the market. This will make for the perfect activity this July.
Salt Pots will also help people to hand-paint a tile linking personal stories to this iconic new market.

Live entertainment
The market will be buzzing with live music throughout the weekend, with buskers, DJs, singers and bands all curated by Bradford Music Scene
As the celebration events will take place on Wimbledon finals weekend, people will be able to watch the drama unfold live from Centre Court on the big screen, while relaxing with a drink and food from Darley Street Kitchen.
On Sunday 13th July, there will be more Wimbledon-themed fun with local cake company Eden Pie, decorating strawberries and cream cupcakes and ‘tennis players’ from local street theatre company Q20.
Bradford Council will be releasing more details of the new Darley Street Market over the next few weeks.
