Situated near Bolton Abbey Estate, Catgill Farm offers a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Pitch up your tent and unwind with picturesque views of the Yorkshire Dales, or explore riverside walks.

This is one of our favourite campsites in Yorkshire.

The onsite Cat’s Kitchen serves up fresh coffees and pastries in the morning, before you begin your outdoor adventures for the day!

Just down the road is The Devonshire Arms, a 2AA Rosette award-winning restaurant with an ever-changing seasonal menu – perfect for dining in the evening.

Masons Campsite, Appletreewick

Tucked away in Appletreewick, Masons Campsite overlooks the River Wharf, with plenty of choice for where to pitch your tent. This campsite really caters to all, whether it’s a laid-back family gathering or a hiking retreat.

The Masons team prides itself on being keen foodies. There’s a kitchen on site offering baked goods, ice creams and even sourdough pizzas – perfect for fueling some Dales adventures.

One of the best pubs in Yorkshire, The Craven Arms, is just down the road too – stop by for classic pub food in a cosy, quirky setting.

Breaks Fold Farm Camping

Breaks Fold Farm campsite, Harrogate

It doesn’t get more Yorkshire than this traditional hill farm. Nestled on the edge of Thruscross Reservoir, Breaks Fold Farm is perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside and villages. Family-run, this farm has plenty of wildlife and some pretty hardy sheep too.

Dogs are allowed, so you’re welcome to bring your furry friend along to this camping trip.

Surrounded by six acres of vast woodlands and walks, Wood Nook is a small working farm situated in Upper Wharfedale, just two miles from Grassington.

Open for small tents and campervans only, this Yorkshire campsite is close to plenty of cosy pubs and cafes to retreat to after a day out in the unpredictable British weather.

Old Chamber Farm & Camping, Hebden Bridge

Old Chamber Farm has been in the same family for over 50 years, and is packed full of history and beautiful Yorkshire nature.

It is just a 15-minute walk to Hebden Bridge, which is a vibrant hub of independent shops, bars and restaurants and also close to the Pennine Way for those eager walkers.

Tucked away in the enchanting Brontë Country, Milking Hill Farm offers a peaceful camping experience just 15 minutes from Haworth and 20 minutes from Hebden Bridge.

You’ll be camping by the picturesque River Worth, with pitches that allow for cosy raised firepits and barbecues.

This family-run West Yorkshire farm is the ideal spot to unwind, reconnect with nature, and create unforgettable memories in a stunning, secluded valley.

Ponden Mill, Brontë Country

Right in the heart of Brontë Country, and a stone’s throw from the actual Wuthering Heights (Top Withens Farm), is Ponden Mill, a beautiful site offering B&B, camping, glamping, and great access to dramatic landscapes and scenic countryside.

Pitch up next to the river or under the gaze of Scar Top Chapel and make the most of the peaceful woodland surrounding the site.

Cotton Star Camping, Peak District

Tucked away by Agden Reservoir is this gem of a campsite. Just outside of Sheffield and in the Peak District, Cotton Star Camping is in an ideal location for outdoor adventures.

Surrounded by tall fir trees and rolling moorland, this is a place you can truly relax and unwind.

And of course, you must pay a visit to the nearest village, Bradfield, home to The Schoolrooms – one of our favourite restaurants in Sheffield.

Best Yorkshire campsites: Broad Close Farm, Barnsley

Broad Close is a well-maintained, small, and quiet family farm site just outside Silkstone, Barnsley. It’s located just off the Trans Pennine Trail and only a few miles from the Peak District.

Pubs, a supermarket, and a train station are all within walking distance, along with walking and cycling trails right at your doorstep. Cap off your day of adventures by enjoying one of the on-site fire pits for a cosy and ambient evening.

Bayness Farm, Robin Hood’s Bay

Soak up the sea air at Bayness Farm. Set high on the hillside of the north-west side of Robin Hood’s Bay, this campsite has unbeatable coastal views.

Robin Hood’s Bay is just a thirty-minute walk away from the farm, or the town of Whitby is just a ten-minute drive.

There’s a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for families wishing to explore this lovely part of Yorkshire. Looking for somewhere to eat come the evening? Saltmoore is a 20-minute drive away, with a fantastic pizzeria and brasserie.

Wold Farm Caravan and Camping Site, Bridlington

Up next is Wold Farm, the ideal camping spot if you’re planning a long weekend by the beach. Adjacent to Bempton Cliffs (and the puffins that frequent there in the early summer season), this campsite has fantastic coastal views as far as the eye can see.

You can camp or bring a motorhome, caravan, or campervan for your stay. Even better, after a busy day of exploring the local beaches, you’re not far from cosy pubs and cafes.
