The Flavours Food Festival Barnsley returns for its third consecutive year

The Flavours Food Festival Barnsley returns to The Glass Works on 16-19 May bigger and better than ever with over 70 stalls, live music and entertainment for all the family.
The highlight of the Barnsley culinary calendar is returning for its third year and will once again be taking place in The Glass Works Square.
Last year’s Flavours Food Festival attracted thousands of visitors and, with a growing footprint and number of stalls, plus live music and entertainment, organisers are excited to welcome even more foodies from all over Yorkshire once again.
The festivities run 10 am-6.30 pm on Thursday 16 May, 10 am-7 pm on Friday 17 May, 10 am-8 pm on Saturday 18 May and 10 am-5 pm on Sunday 19 May.
The exciting line-up of street food vendors for 2024 truly offers something for everyone with food from all over the world including Italy, Turkey, Greece, Japan, Mexico, Canada and more!
But it isn’t all about the food, with live music, three bars serving the finest beers and cocktails, and a fantastic range of artisan crafters, makers, artists and more.
Barnsley has always had a strong affiliation with markets, and this year, the historic Barnsley Market at the centre of The Glass Works is celebrating its 775th anniversary. As part of the celebration, Barnsley Market will be open until 5 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a special Sunday market from 10 am-4 pm on Sunday 19 May.
The Flavours Food Festival kickstarts an exciting year-long events calendar in The Glass Works and Barnsley town centre with Barnsley Live and the new Barnsley 10k taking place in June, Barnsley’s Big Weekend including the Brassed On! festival in July, the Garden Party in September and Barnsley Bright Nights and the return of the Barnsley Christmas Market bringing us into the festive season.
Matt O’Neill, Executive Director of Growth and Sustainability for Barnsley Council, said “It is fantastic that we are able to bring the Flavours Food Festival back to The Glass Works again this year, and the continued success means we can expand the festival and welcome more visitors to our fantastic town centre this spring.
The Glass Works Square allows us as a local council to deliver a packed programme of free, family-friendly events in Barnsley town centre, and this year we plan to take full advantage of The Glass Works, our historic market, the wider town centre and the expanded public realm around the newly opened Market Gate Bridge, with as many events as possible throughout the year.
We have an amazing offer within Barnsley town centre and want to extend a warm Barnsley welcome to all our visitors and residents. We want everyone to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the Flavours Food Festival, as well as explore the wider food, drink and leisure offerings including Cineworld, Superbowl UK, The Botanist, Barnsley Market, The Victorian Arcade and more.
Whilst you are discovering the fantastic eateries in the town centre, you can also be in with the chance to win a £50 Barnsley Gift Card when you eat at selected venues.
