The Gin Fayre Expands Across Yorkshire

The Gin Fayre, Scotland’s fastest growing events for gin distillers, is expanding across the North of England to Yorkshire for the very first time.
The Gin Fayre kicks off their Yorkshire Tour in Wetherby on Sunday 6th May – perfectly timed for the extended Bank Holiday weekend – closely followed by Leyburn on Saturday 16th June and Malton on Saturday 18th August.

Having launched in February 2017, The Gin Fayre has already hosted six sell-out events and has expanded across the North of England and Scotland this year with a further eleven events in the diary to date. With so many new brands and distilleries popping up across the country, The Gin Fayre is an opportunity for gin lovers and newbies alike to try before they buy, meet the distillers and learn more about the spirit that is here to stay.

Despite starting in St Andrews just over a year ago, Jasmine was keen to bring the event to Yorkshire, “My heart and roots have always been in Yorkshire, which is why we’ve decided to bring the event to three locations in the county, starting with Wetherby for the Bank Holiday weekend. With the exception of studying in Scotland and a very brief stint working in London, I have lived in Leeds all my life. I am familiar with the area and am delighted to bring The Gin Fayre – and our fantastic distillers – a little closer to home!” says Jasmine Wheelhouse, Founder of The Gin Fayre.
The Gin Fayre was created with people in mind who wanted learn more about what they are drinking, the flavours, varieties and the process of distilling gin, without the price tag of buying numerous bottles from the supermarket. The Gin Fayre gives people the opportunity to try before they buy, as well as offer the distillers a direct route to market.

The Gin Fayre purposely chooses venues and locations that are outside of the bigger cities allowing for an experience that you wouldn’t ordinarily have without travelling.
Simon Fairclough, Founder and Head Distiller at Persie Distillery, agrees, “We are really supportive of the areas that Jasmine has chosen to take The Gin Fayre this year. We find the audience in the smaller cities and towns to be much more engaged and excited about the brands on offer.”

The Gin Fayre Yorkshire Tour includes a variety of gin brands from across the region, including Cooper King Distillery, Greystone Gin from The Harewood Food & Drink Project, Raisthorpe Manor, Sloe Motion and brands from further afield, including Ink Gin from Australia.

What do you get?

On arrival, you’ll be given a goody bag, complete with a gin handbook of all of the gins on offer, their perfect tonic and garnish pairing, as well as a few little treats. Your ticket includes a welcome drink PLUS samples from the distilleries. You can also book onto one of their Masterclasses lead by their highly knowledgeable distillers, which give you the opportunity to delve further in to your favourite spirit. Each speaker will guide you through the distilling process, the botanicals, the flavours, the story and the passion behind their gin.
