Keelham Farm shop to reopen after £2.2m purchase

The multi-award-winning Keelham Farm Shop, is set to reopen on Thursday 27th March at 10 am.

Located in Gargrave Road near Skipton, it has been bought by Robertshaw’s Farm Shop Limited, a well-established family business based in Thornton, Bradford – for £2.2m.

The shop shut its doors in late 2023 due to financial difficulties linked to the rising cost of living, and it fell into administration in January after no new buyers were found. Now, with its new owners, the farm shop will return to serving the local community.

Rob Cruikshank, associate director at Watling Real Estate’s Leeds office, which facilitated the sale, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the new owners’ plans will preserve the shop’s original function.

“There’s a real need for this type of offering in the area, and I’m confident that local residents will be pleased to see the farm shop reopening,” he said. “This is a great win for the community, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.”

Originally opened in 2015 by siblings Victoria and James Robertshaw, the Skipton location was initially an offshoot of their primary farm shop in Thornton. The two businesses separated in 2019, with the Skipton branch being sold to investors in 2020.

James Robertshaw said: “We are really excited to finally launch the new Skipton store, and to welcome our new customers.”
