There are two new Michelin-starred restaurants in Yorkshire
Fifty Two at Rudding Park, Harrogate – North Yorkshire
One Michelin Star
Led by Adam Degg, a contestant from the Great British Menu, Fifty Two embraces the essence of nature, offering an immersive dining experience with a focus on the highest quality ingredients cultivated in the kitchen garden or selected from trusted local producers.
Since its opening in May 2024, the restaurant has quickly gained recognition and become a favourite among foodies, so it’s no surprise they’ve earned themselves a Michelin star this year.
Weather permitting, guests are invited to explore the Kitchen Garden before settling in to enjoy the seasonal, surprise-tasting menu.
JÖRO, Sheffield – South Yorkshire
One Michelin Star
Recently relocating to a former mill just outside of Sheffield, Jöro has come on leaps and bounds. Owner and chef Luke French and partner Stacey Sherwood-French have stayed true to their approach of applying modern techniques to local ingredients while encompassing a touch of Nordic and Japanese style.
Their menus are both delightful and slightly playful, showcasing high-quality ingredients with genuine care. You can truly sense their team spirit and dedication to their craft, which is a true labour of love.
Now, with their well-deserved Michelin star, it’s evident that their hard work and commitment have really paid off.

Michelin Star Restaurants Yorkshire: Forge at Middleton Lodge, Richmond – North Yorkshire
One Michelin Star and one Green Star for their ‘estate-to-plate’ philosophy
When Forge at Middleton Lodge launched in 2023, we bet our bottom dollar on it bringing home a Michelin – and we’re not surprised to announce that they have. Their unique tasting experience is guided by their sustainability ethos.
Head chef Jake Jones works closely with the estate’s gardening team to create innovative menus that showcase seasonal produce grown on-site, as well as working with local farmers and producers to source the very best ingredients.
Jake said: “Being awarded a Michelin Star really is a dream come true. We have an amazing team at Forge and at Middleton Lodge and this award means so much to all of us. Our guests’ experience is our priority, and I love what I do.”

Michelin Star Restaurants Yorkshire: Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, Ripon – North Yorkshire
One Michelin Star
Originally from Yorkshire, Shaun Rankin honed his skills at The Mayfair Hotel in London before his love of the sea took him to the Channel Islands, where he spent the majority of his career residing in Jersey.
Since Grantley Hall’s opening in 2019, and the appointment of Shaun to oversea the fine dining restaurant, the hotel has received an array of awards and has one of the highest accolades in the culinary world.
Michelin Star Restaurants Yorkshire: The Black Swan at Oldstead – North Yorkshire
One Michelin Star and one Green Star for their commitment to sustainability
The Black Swan at Oldstead has been perfectly summed up by chef Tommy Banks when he describes ‘it’s not just a job for us, it’s a lifestyle’ when it comes to this Michelin Star restaurant in Yorkshire.

Since then, he has won Great British Menu in both 2016 and 2017, with The Black Swan at Oldstead being named ‘Best Fine Dining Restaurant in the World’ in 2017, and the ‘Best Restaurant in the UK’ in 2018 by The Food and Travel Magazine.
The family-run The Black Swan in Oldstead retain its Michelin Green Star alongside its Michelin Star. The Michelin Green Star is a recognition of sustainable gastronomy practices, commitment to reducing food waste and use of locally sourced ingredients on their menus.
