Leeds Welcomes a New All-Day Dining Destination In Historic Building

One of Leeds’ most significant historic buildings is set to begin a new chapter this summer as Moods, a relaxed-luxury café, bar and events venue, opens its doors.

Located at First White Cloth Hall, it is set to open on Friday 31st July 2026.

Occupying the ground floor of the Grade II listed building on Kirkgate, Moods is a family-led vision that will restore public life to a landmark that has stood at the heart of the city for more than 300 years.

The opening completes a long-term vision by husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Will and Hayley Moody. Hayley said, “We wanted Moods to feel special without feeling stiff.

“Luxurious, cosy and full of detail, but still somewhere you can drop in for a coffee, a pastry or a cocktail depending on the day you are having.”

“The building already has so much character, so the design has been about adding warmth, comfort and personality without taking away from the history that is already there.”

It will feature all-day dining, with breakfast, brunch, and lunch menus designed to evolve throughout the day.

When the evening service launches in the autumn, they will focus on more refined dishes featuring some showstoppers like king scallops with nduja and Scotch bonnet, Violetta potato with ox cheek and bone marrow béarnaise, and dark chocolate with raw coffee fudge and peppermint.
